Good call pulling Ryan up on hypocracy over cutting the embassy budget.

Yeah, I'm glad that Biden is willing to call Ryan out.

The Iran stuff is going to be frustrating to listen to since I disagree with both parties on this.

The moderator seems to be taking a more active role than Jim Lehrer did.

Okay, Ryan is so full of shit about Iran. Not saying Biden will be better but FUCKING LOL at the idea that Iran is pursuing nuclear weapons simply because we haven't taken a hard enough line about military action.

Also, Ryan seems incapable of talking about anything proactively without mentioning Obama. Romney did something similar by focusing on bashing Obama instead of his own ideas.

Biden seems much stronger on Iran and the reality of the situation than Ryan to me- who seems to be dealing in a fantasy media version of Iran- sadly with media like Fox feeding that version of the story it might still work.

In one stroke Ryan says that a nuclear-armed Iran is worse than another war in the Middle East AND proposes a new domino theory.

Jesus.

It's so refreshing seeing Biden go on the offensive after Obama's performance last week.

To be fair, Ryan's response about Scranton was pretty good.

The Mod is 1000% better than the pres debates one- god knows how he got the gig for the presidential debate he was hopeless.

He's been around forever but I can't remember if he was that bad in previous years. Fortunately the next two Presidential debates have different moderators.

Ryan is repeating so many things that the fact-checkers have already torn to shreds. I wish Biden would stop repeating the "Let Detroit go bankrupt line" but really, Ryan seems way out of his depth.

I do wonder how much shit Biden will get for laughing and grinning. A lot of pundits love to jump on debaters for appearing cocky or dismissive.

I reckon they should discard the Debate idea. What? "I'm a good debater therefore I can run a country!" - crapola!

Actually I agree about that Orwell- I am not in favour of them in principle myself- entertaining as they are- last UK election was the first time we had 'presidential' style debates here- and I did not like it- apart from anything else we dont have a president- we elect a party not an individual.

I watched the UK prime ministerial debates on the BBC website but I can't recall if it was as bad as US debates usually are. Regardless, I agree that the format is pretty worthless. Has the potential to be entertaining though.

I thought Biden was more solid on the economy- but I agree his laughing at Ryan might back fire on him.

We have them here too. They have an audience meter on the screen and when someone says "We're oing to give every fifty dollars a week extra through less taxes," the 'worm' as they call it goes up. When someone says, "We will raise taxes and give more money for low income housing," the worm goes down. Yep - only the wealthy and the Middleclasses watch the debates! (Actually, I'm being tricky - no one ever promises more taxes - though we always get them! )

Loving the comments on fox (where im watching it)- "The moderator is another democrat"- "Ryan is doing outstanding in keeping his compusure inlight of gang-bang tactics"-"The VP and Moderator are both trying to attack Biden."- "The mod is joke. It is so obvious she has handed this debate to Biden."

I'm still not sure why you listen to FOX so much.

What role your religion plays- theres a question youll never hear in UK politics.

Fox is both funny and frightening- like picking a big scab you know no good will come from.
But when it comes to the debates I watch them there because its always a good steady stream no matter how busy.

Besides first rule of warfare- know your enemy.

Id give that one to Biden- Fox immediately have gone on Biden smothered Ryan and was obnoxious- there presenters opening line when the debate finished was "I want to talk to about style".
