to the first question, it was the Velvet Underground, and the second question yep thats the chap, he looked just like his dad Alain Delon, but his dad never accepted it, although he was his exact clone double. its pretty sad really.

Brilliant but dark film (not without some very dark humour) amazing performnces and Lynchs usual penchant for creating awkward and disturbing moods.
There is nothing in it I think that will shock you Norc in terms of the sex- I believe there is one scene with female full frontal nudity - its more the violent aspect to the sex which disturbs- and its not what Lynch shows you, he really doesnt show much at all, its in the brilliant performances.
There isnt a huge amount of sex in it, but sex is a main theme. Sex when its twisted by unhealthy minds.

Isnt that the one where Dennis Hopper shoves a bottle up "whatshernames" lady bits ? she was at a table making bread or something? If it is...I thought that was a bit severe, well, uncomfortable to watch,from a ladies point of view

Yes, and Hoopers character uses the gas to get high as he does, stuff.
Yes, its a deeply unsettling film, but its not actually explicit in terms of what you are shown on screen- most of it is reactionary from the actors (which of course as Lynch knows and Pj doesnt- is much more effective)

Tension ?? My farts cause more tension ! Look at Hitchcock, How he used simple scenes that were in B/W, one person on set, a close up that can tell more than PJs dishevelled ramblings.
