A Chat, a Meal, and a Buckie

Ok simple one this- if you could pick any character from Tolkien to have an evening with, a nice chat over a meal and some buckie, who would it be and why?

Bilbo.... eegad, Petty....

I don't suppose I should have to ask, but, why Bilbo in particular?

I think I'd like to have a meal with Samwise Gamgee. Put up an excellent fight against Shelob, and of course Mirkwood Elves love anyone who helps get rid of giant spiders!

I think it would be interesting to have a meal with Galadriel, apart from being easy on the eye (her too) I could get her take on the whole rebellion thing and finally get the correct version of her past!

I'd like to have a chat with Elladan and Elrohir. I bet they have some pretty exciting stories to tell!!

Were they born before the North Kingdoms fell? I think they were about for all that. Would be good to ask them about that time, before it all went wrong.

Bilbo might tell me the true tale of what happened - not the PJ version. As to Galadriel --- All that First Age business might be a bit tedious... if you wanted to know ALL that happened. Mind, Tom Bombadil's account of the rise and fall of kings might be interesting.

I think after a couple of days of Tom singing everything at me I'd just flip and clobber him! Could probably put up with Goldberry for longer, for some reason.

For some reason the first name that springs to mind is that of Meriadoc. I would love to sit down with him in his later years, talk over his early adventures, his continued links with the Rohirrim and those he met. Even more, as someone who then went on to be a leading light back within the hobbit community I'd love to get his take on how his experiences shaped the lead he gave them, how it differed from who he would have been otherwise. (And a groaning table, laden with several meals worth of food has nothing to do with it!)

OOh now that is a good one. I'd like to know what he eventually found out abou tthe old links between the hobbits and the Rohirrim.
And good to see you back again Kafria- Ringdrotten was just asking after you on another thread.

I think the hobbit view on everything would be fascinating and from Merry you'd get both the view of the folk involved, but also the perceptions of those on the sidelines. I think the nature of all people, that keeps them focused on how events effect them, always reducing it to the personal effect is entertaining.
