I got I Davros and The Dalek Empire stories (plus a few other things).

Yeah I will, the problem with these BF sales is that I end up buying so many stories I never find time to listen to them all (must have nearly 300 stories in my BF account now), with my depression and limited spare time at the moment it's sometimes hard to find the time/motivation to sit still for a few hours and listen to audio, but I've heard very good things about I Davros.

{{Talking BF more Time War stuff- but with no longer having John Hurt with us sadly they are not doing Doctor stories, but Master ones with Derek Jacobi as the Master. I like this idea- Jacobi's Master was excellent in his small amount of time on screen and the best thing about that story so the chance to get more of him is one to be warmly welcomed.
Not much to tell from this teaser mind you. }}

{{Excellent suite of music covering all of NuWho in a tribute to Murray Gold's time on the show. An excellent job of mixing one track into the other whilst keeping a consistent theme, it focuses on on the music Gold wrote relating to the Doctor himself.

Murray Golds tonal landscape for NUWHo from its return to present day has very much helped in defining each of the NUWho Doctors and their personalities and the mood of their stories and character, and yet, as the narrative does, maintaining the consistency of character that is the Doctor somehow throughout.
If you like soundtrack music there should be something in the variety of styles Gold employs to enjoy }}}

Do you think you appreciate it more now its set as a continuance ? Hearing this as a lengthy piece of music does I think.

{{ I think so, but its hard to be entirely sure as I am so familiar with each of the Doctors. It would be interesting to see what a non Who watcher made of the whole thing a single piece describing the Doctor through time. And if they felt it had an internal consistency and progression of character, and what it said about the Doctor or impressions it gave. }}}

There are rumours flying that Billie Piper may be returning as Rose a desperate sounding and terrible idea if ever there was one which gives me hope it is just a rumour- it was all sparked when she put on her twitter account that she had a big announcement to make soon and ended it with a row of emoticons finishing with a rose.

Onto things better- an 11th Doctor trailer in the style of the Solo teaser- enjoy! }}

Awh, that pink haired Asian lady Her art work was beautiful. Am fond of that piece of music "I am the Dr". Watching little acorns grow into mighty Oaks is so uplifting
OMG, that opening scene to early Dr Who ( 9.53 ) was what sent my tummy tingling & me wishing I should have gone to the loo first ! And how many talented women have we got ? So many wonderful women have gone unnoticed until years & years later. Its not a Man's World, its a combined world.

whens the new series starting?

{{More changes to the show- so new cameras to give it a more 'cinematic' look and now new fx team too. Milk FX who have handled the special effects throughout  the Mofffat era (and were an offshoot of The Mill fx who handled fx in RTD era) are stepping down from the task. Sad to see them go they have done some exceptional work on the budget- particularly in realizing things like the Silurian ship and Traci the Triceratops, Journey Blue's ship being pursued through the asteroid field by the Daleks (And in fact all the excellent model work on that episode- bet you didn't even notice most of the Daleks in that episode are scale models!) and of course the 50th special and it portrayal of the last day of the Time War.

So who is taking over?- a company called Double Negative. They have worked in the past mainly in film- they did work for Harry Potter films, Avengers, Cloverfield, the Bourne films, Dunkirk, Inception, Fantastic Beasts and the last Blade Runner film among a huge list  of films they have worked on.
Now the BBC is not going to be throwing that sort of money at it; Hollywood level budgets, so dont quite expect that level of fx but it is a highly talented team so it should be in safe hands as they have worked on tv effects before- notably Black Mirror, so expect fx somewhere closer to Black Mirror than Blade Runner on the BBC budget! }}}

Murray Gold has apparently confirmed he is stepping down as composer for Doctor Who, sad to see him go as his work was great, but after 12 years it's not surprising, and perhaps time for an overdue change, wonder if Chibnall will rope in the composer of Broadchurch instead?

{{Yeah going to be very different, new production, all new cast, less episodes but one hour long each, shot on new cameras, new fx company, all new writers and all new music. Pretty much all that remains are the very basics of the show- the Doctor, the TARDIS, the sonic screwdriver. All of which have had a make-over }}}

{{ Sad news in my view- Jamie Maithson has confirmed he is not writing for the new series and Chibnal has not asked him back, despite Maithon pitching Chibnal story ideas. That's a huge shame as he was one of the best new writers of recent years, his two back to back debut episodes Mummy on the Orient Express and Flatline are among two of the best of series 8 and Capaldi's run and Oxygen wa spretty damn good too- all very solid work. Very sorry to see Chibnal ignoring him this way and not using him.
So far on writers all we have is who will not be writing them- thats Mathiseon, Dollard (double shame here, not like Who is overly blessed with female writers to date, why lose one? )and Gatiss all out for definite- but no word on who is in other than Chibnal himself. So far we know more about the talent we are not going to be seeing writing Who than the talent we are! (starting to wonder if Chibnal has a masterplan to protect his writers for fan ire but not telling anyone who they are, ever! Especially given they are well into the production of it now, so they must have stuff written. Very odd to be this far into a series and not have a clue who is writing any of it.)
Oh and sources say that the US style writers room idea is out too. Cant say I'm too sorry about that if true.}}}

Something else to get used to. Picking up speed this Dr Who stuff. Maybe we are in for a good old shake up ? Its starting to feel like 'why walk when you can run'

{{I think we are certainly in for a shake up- that used to happen more often-1 to 2 was a big shake up of everything, as was 3-4 and 5-6 and 10 to 11. Like those times we are going to get it seems a whole new look, feel and sound with new shooting style, cameras, effects and music.
As to how much substance will change besides the Doctors gender change (which I actually hope isn't a factor in making things different, it should still be the Doctor) its hard to tell at this point, especially as we dont know who is doing the writing.

Given we know one episode at least will feature

in some fashion it may be that Chibnal is taking things right back to its roots and going back to doing more straight on, no alien involvement, historicals with a slight educational bent to them, as in 1st Doctor era. }}
