I'd like to know too.
Also like to know if an Italymoot is in the cards if I hit Rome in early May. Not sure if I can convince my friend to head north. Also not sure if I want to try to hit Britain on the way back. Will see.

Rome is a bit far for me, its not my favourite city either, but its great to visit Rome at least once. I much prefer Venice for the atmosphere.

If I can talk her into Venice I'd much rather go there myself.

yep Venice is fabulous. if you arrive early morning there are no tourists. I found Rome a bit of a disappointment, I guess I watched too many sword and sandal movies as a kid. Venice however is the real deal. magical.

Re: Just...................whatever [7]
Been to both, not had nearly enough time in either one. With all the big buildings packed together and uncrossable traffic, Rome feels sort of oppressive. Venice is fun to get lost in (that's all you ever do) but the food is a disappointment when compared to the scenery.

yes I feel Rome is too chaotic to really enjoy, too many people everywhere. Venice has some lovely hidden gems just walks away from the main tourist areas and its silent with nice little places to eat. Mind you I am not fussed about food its just fuel to me so I can eat average stuff and think its ok. You cant beat getting on the bus-boats and just sailing to the little islands and the Lido. *sigh* fond memories of Venice.

Re: Just...................whatever [7]
One of my clearest memories of Venice (from when I was five, so there aren't many) is seeing a McDonald's delivery boat painted in red with the golden arches. Also going on a gondola, but McD's was a close second at that age.
Sorry to hear that Mrs Figg; hope you feel better soon! In my experience sprains tend to take several weeks to stop regularly hurting but if you wear a splint or compression glove and/or see a doctor to get advice it might be quicker.

I think they heal faster if you stay off them.

Re: Just...................whatever [7]
Ive been busy doing a new hobby Having a whale of a time
Mosaics....
This is my first effort. I did take a snappy of it before it was grouted but I cant find it ? The colours were much more vibrant. Grouting it has muted them a tad ? Anyhoo, its ready to go in the garden.
The selection of tiles & colours is Arts N Crafts heaven & its a lot easier to do than I thought. I'm doing a 2nd one now. It doesn't cost a lot to do either & when the weather is shitty as it is now, it gives you something to stop you getting bored

Re: Just...................whatever [7]
I'd be afraid of that technique - you have to get it right the first time, can't just erase or paint over.
