Emergency Medical Technician. It's the certification for ambulance crew, firefighters, etc. and is often required on remote job sites. You'll also often find EMT certification among people who like extreme sports, just in case they need to put their own brains back in or something.

I don't get why people don't silence their phones at night, especially when they complain if they get woken up. Unless you're an emergency worker or something I don't see the point.
