{{{It has its moments, and yeah, does get a tad windy on occasion}}}
{{If you are in that front car its particularly terrifying when its that bad, as the sea disappears as you go up twenty or so foot and all you can see is sky, then bang you come smacking back down and the wave crashes over the front and drenches the car, you cant tell if your sinking or not! }}}

Good. I'm glad to see such a prominent addition to the "let retail employees enjoy Thanksgiving" movement.
Re: Tales of Home [7]
I agree. My family has a bad habit of going to see a movie on Christmas day, and it's always full of others doing the same thing. It just feels wrong.

Today Autumn launched its self in full flight. All those hoping for an extended summer better think again. Most of the trees here have lost the majority of their leaves already. The wind is icy cold, the leaves on the ground are crunchy & theres a distinct aroma of central heating already

Re: Tales of Home [7]
Okay, I'll be uploading my from home video soon, but it will take a while, so here's a low quality placeholder that I made when I first moved in here.

When the damn thing actually uploads it will be my first attempt at video editing. I was banging my head against imovie and getting royally frustrated until I discovered this video:

Re: Tales of Home [7]
So here it is. After a good half century of doing backflips to avoid listening to myself, after spending a good hour editing this I can definitively say that I sound not unlike the Swedish Chef with a lisp.
Edit: well crap, the version I made for upload looks fine on my computer, but it's really low quality on youtube. Any ideas how to fix this?
Re-Edit: that's interesting. On repeated viewing the quality improves (and not because I've been drinking). It seems youtube buffers the video; either putting out a low quality video at first until it can improve it, or adjusting quality depending on bitrate.

It's twin-brother-ese. I'm sure you can google it.
(or google cryptophasia, more fun.)
(( I just learned that term exists by googling a more pedestrian version. ))
((( Though actually the google article lists changes in grammar, which we did not do. We felt we were speaking straight-ass English. )))

Re: Tales of Home [7]
It does seem youtube adjusts the image quality according to bandwidth, since mine has been going up and down and the image quality appears to go with it.
it would look a bit more romantic if the last day I was filming wasn't so hazy.

I guess I mean like Minnesota people have Scandawegian origins and you can still hear it in their accents. A bit of Viking in the mix.
I have never heard of cryptophasia before, don't know what it entails.

Also called twin talk. I've had to explain so many times it's drudgery, would prefer you just google it.

{{{{lovely Halfy- and a farmers market too! Also NY seems such a huge, legendary almost unreal sort of place- nice to see that at eye level its just another street with people in it.
I see what Figg is getting at with your accent Halfy, it has a pleasant sing-song quality to it that is reminiscent of Scandinavian accents. }}}

Re: Tales of Home [7]
Please, please, please don't take this the wrong way !! but, Your accent Halfy reminds me of when I was a child & how my mum loved watching "Liberace" on tv He had a good sense of humour as well as playing a lovely piano, & of course mum liked his flamboyant clothes, his smile You just reminded me of a snippet of my childhood I'm really loving seeing how other people live, places I might not visit for one reason or another ( often to do with finances )

Hmpf. Never been classed with the flamboyant before. Seems more Orwell's style...

BTW, the person who should really be credited with the voice-over video thing is Orwell with his orphan cranberry vines. But somehow we didn't jump on that bandwagon.

Re: Tales of Home [7]
After almost 3 weeks straight of harvesting, we're finally taking an afternoon off because of weather. It's blowing 30 and raining sideways out there, and I'm trying to get caught up on whatever's been happening in the great wide world. (Disturbingly it appears to mostly have to do with Hillary and Donald )
I really want to listen to all your videos and hear the voices that go with each of you, but for now I don't have the bandwidth to listen. I'll give some thought to how I could put up a vid of myself, but for now I'll post this old picture of cranberry harvest as a place holder.

Re: Tales of Home [7]
you know every time I drink cranberry juice or eat a berry I always imagine the field where it came from and that's the picture I imagine. its odd to think the small berry could have come direct from Daves field.
