The dog is actually a chocolate lab but black and white made his eyes stand out more. But yes, he is mine.

I don't precisely remember this wall at Machu Picchu, but I think it's a perfect example of how playful the Incans were with stone.  Good choice.

I think that was in the temple area where the stonework is of the best quality of any across the whole site.

Amazing that they could do something like this that long ago! Some of the other sites I visited were much older!!

Though we may have the technical ability to do something like that now, I don't think we have the will. That type of cutting would be done by hand-held power tools, and only a retiree might take the time to do it, or an artist with a wealthy patron building a private garden. But present plans like that for a contract job and it would go nowhere unless it was poured concrete in clay molds.

Hola! Petty - I've been meaning to get back to you on my Scotland trip for a couple of weeks now, but somehow it keeps slipping my mind. The final plans have been laid, and I won't be staying long in Glasgow (only a couple of days), so my glorious Loch Lomond trip is postponed. I'll be going to Berlin and Copenhagen as well in November, so I had to put the breaks on (cash-wise). Sorry to get back to you so late!

I'm arriving late on Tuesday the 5th (nov), then there's the concert I'm going to see on Wednesday, so Thursday the 7th? I took a look in my crystal ball, however, and it said I would be somewhat hungover on Thursday and probably keen on spending the day without much travel If you can make it to Glasgow on Thursday I'm all for a buckie! If not, I have grand plans (in my head at least) for a UK trip next year, I still want to spend a couple of days at that Loch Lomond hotel I looked at, and take that Harry Potter steam train.

We want a REAL report on Bucky this time.  Tin failed us. (...though actually she disappeared. )  Maybe there's some sinister syndicate that doesn't want the truth about Bucky getting out!

Oh it would have to be then!!! I just agreed last week to cover that week at work! Leave it with me, I'll see if I can wrangle someone into covering a night for me. Ill be at work wed/thurs night, but if I can get the the thurs/fri night off I could just stay up on the thursday fuelled by buckie! }}

{{No, no! Most pubs wont serve it, what your looking for are offlisenses and corner shops that sell alcohol. Youll find shaped bottles of it, you want the tall bottle (looks like the buckie bottles youve seen on here), and you dont drink it in pubs, at your hotel, or somewhere else if you dont want to find in the morning you have a very large hotel cleaning bill!
Now the trick is to down as much of as you can, in as short an amount of time as you can manage, without killing yourself!
