I don't think it's awkward going to a movie by myself. It's awkward going with a bunch of people you don't know that aren't going to talk to you anyway.

Yep, there's really not much point going to something with a group of people during which the most socially acceptable thing you can do is ignore them. I'd rather go by myself, have two armrests to myself, and not a lot of damn questions about "what did you think?". I'm thinking dammit, leave me alone.

Gandalf dies, Boromir dies, Mountains looking awesome, Charge of Rohirrim, Faramir Charge, Théoden dies, Eagles, Friends together again, You bow to no-one, By bye Havens, Home. that's a lot of tears. Sad

Oh, I don't think the disappointment will match the Hobbit. I think we'll just be disappointed we weren't blown out of our seats the way the original Star Wars (NOT 'episode IV', NOT 'a New Hope', just STAR WARS) did.
