Ash vs Evil Dead

Well well well. After thirty years of hiding away and ignoring what happened to him and the others, looks like the old evil has returned. Will Ash be up for it? Who knows, only time will tell. And from the looks of the first episode... it's going to be a riot finding out!

You've never seen the Evil Dead films?! 
They are interesting in and of themselves really- first one is a low budget cheap effects played pretty straight horror film (there is humour in it but its hard to spot- the effects dont count they weren't supposed to look humorous) Evil Dead 2 is basically not a sequel at all but a reboot, retelling the same story as the first but with significant changes (notably only Ash and his girlfriend go to the cabin in the woods, not a group of teens) and its much funnier in the style of the above trailer.
3 is the weakest of them though I still have a soft spot for it. Its very different from the others as Ash gets transported back in time and it pushes the humorous elements of two more to the forefront, but less successfully so.

One of my favourite scenes (spoilers obviously if you haven't seen the film!)

As far as the series goes, Evil Dead 3never happened. Evil Dead is a interesting mix of horror and slapstick humour. It takes both seriously 
Expect gore, harsh language, gore, nakedness and gore. All mixed in with silly and daft even occasionally witty dialogue.

Do you mean Evil Dead the film series didn't happen, or just the first film? Or have they rebooted the back story again?

I just watched Army of Darkness on tv the other day. Good film. Not sure about this new show though.

Watched up to episode five so far. Twenty five minutes is far too short, other than it's just slapstick horror comedy every minute of those twenty five minutes.
