Re: the all Dog thread! [2]
Ive a 15 yr old cat that's dodgy. I don't expect her to be around long, just hope when she goes she goes in her sleep as going to the vets is my biggest fear.

Re: the all Dog thread! [2]
so sorry to hear that chris, she looked like a lovely dog. Our last dog was nearly 18 years old when we had to put him to sleep, it was a very tough, sad decision to make but he was in poor health, sometimes the hardest decisions to make our also the kindest, just remember the many years of good times rather than dwelling on the sad ending.

I know dogs can be sneaky but that's only if you've got long legs.

Re: the all Dog thread! [2]
Labs are born rescue dogs. He probably went out there first to make sure the dolphin wasn't drowning. I was at a swimming hole once with a rope swing, and everytime someone swung into the water, the splash would be followed by a second as a lab jumped in and accompanied the swimmer back to shore.

Golden Retrievers are lovely dogs also. They've got that rescue gene too

Re: the all Dog thread! [2]
wow, that's cool that they've bonded with the dog. That orange cat is gorgeous. Will Simi run off if not on a leash? I've always felt that if I finally get a true country home, with the next house a football pitch away, I'd have a dog that would roam free. That's the way all dogs used to be even in surburbia, but now they're all leashed.

Re: the all Dog thread! [2]
I am so lucky, Ive got 6 cats & they all get on with Simi. I think its because he's a big softie & very quiet & the cats sense that. Yeah, I can let him of the lead tho here its supposed to be the law that you keep your dog on a lead, the only ones going around with their dogs trotting along free are the morons who think they look 'hard', We call them chavs, you probably call them trailer trash.

Re: the all Dog thread! [2]
Though all dogs are supposed to be on a leash in the city, in Central Park there's an ordiance that dogs can be free between dawn and 9 am and again after 9 pm. You go there in the morning and it's absolutely packed with more dogs than people. Pretty magical, really. I think outside high density areas dogs should be collared but free, with the owner responsible for any problems so they leash them if need be.
I can't find a picture that matches what I saw, but this will do:

Re: the all Dog thread! [2]
We do have dog park areas that dogs can run off lead, & a lot of public parks don't mind either. The council here get snippy about dogs on the beach which has pissed off a lot of people ! There is more trouble caused on the beach & along the promenade from druggies/drunks/vandals & arsonists than any dog could do.
That pic is lovely !!!
