I still find it odd that people can take offence to particular words over others (offence in general is stupid). Whatever the word is, if it is meant to be nasty then it is nasty. Why do people get so hung up over particular words.... like azriel avoiding cunt but not slag when they were clearly both meant with the same intention. And why is that any different to twat, pussy or vagina? It is the same bloody thing!!

I dunno Lance ? I dont know if its indoctrine, the way I was brought up or what ? Some words I can use without batting an eye, especially if Im worked up ! get me angry & IL go thru the alphabet of swearing but, some words I just dont like, they are painful to my ears. Some words I dont ever use as I feel they are so ugly they offend the other person, which I may not want to do. For instance, I could say bugger, fuck or shit & I know the person Im talking to wont spaz out but, If I said c**t I know, ( especially if its a woman ) that the word is more offensive. I think also men mind less about swearing than women do ? Tho some women Ive spoken with can make a guy blush

I think people need to get over themselves and get over the 'being offended' thing. I am often called quite heartless but I actually don't take stuff like that to heart at all. I dont find any word any worse than any other... because it isnt. I dont care if people call me things because I know who I am and what I want to be like. If I fall short of my own standards then that isnt good... but I dont really care what others think or say. And to be honest... if someone gets offended by something I say.... they are gonna get over it!

I also dont actually swear very much and that is mainly because I have a whole vocabulary to express myself with. Sometimes that is swearing, sometimes not. I do say cunt to get a reaction though... normally in the most inappropriate circumstances!

By inappropriate I normally mean I use it in a way that is extreme for the situation in question. Like Norman Price in fireman Sam. He had been called that before!!! (And he deserves it the little shit bag).

There's this Russian machinist in the basement of our building who swears fluidly and constantly in English, but in such a way it's endearing. I once was complaining about my boss when the guy put his arm on my shoulder and carefully explained in his Russian brogue "Listen to me: fuck him. You understand my point?"

So we were having a going away party for someone down in his shop, and he pulled out a dozen bottles of hard liquor, and at some we point tried to get him to swear in Russian for us. No amount of drink would make him do it: he apparently didn't think we could handle the onslaught of truly refined swearing, considering English a woefully bereft and febrile tool for the job. Think of it, we can actually count our swear words.

Depends what you count as swearing, British (for want of a better distinguishing word) has got a lot of words that you would be frowned on for saying in polite company.

Only 1/4 of the time  bloody that is...  it's all in context I think when the word count is used. I've found some women like the word and some don't. Some are mixed on it. My wife hates the word but during "passionate, heated moments", the word comes out of her mouth like a sailor on holiday. All context if you ask me.

Oh the irony of life! I have been searching for this music for years, I couldn't find out who had written it.
