eurovision 2014

i thought i'd make a thread for this years eurovision too .. every year i say that i won't be bothered with it, but then i find myself watching the semifinals and having the time of my life, laughing until i cry.  i've only seen the second semi final, because i don't like to watch if i can't vote. (and then i also have some surprises for the final  ) so, here's some of my favourite from the second semi final that didn't make it through to the finals.


the drummer looks like a chipmunk and the parachute drummer looks waaaay too serious  and it is so random. in the beginning there is a mix between joik, native american singing and yodelling, though the music is very advanced in comparison to the other submissions


and then there is poland... they went through to the finals... wonder why   (BOOBS)


also, norway went through, and i actually like this years song  it's not typically eurovision and when i first heard it on the radio, i didn't think it was this year's eurivision  and that is a good thing right  


and there is (my bet) this years winner. Conchita Wurst. (I love this guy!! great singer and just awesome and catchy song, i like)


so tonight.. i'm gonna do a drinking game.
DRINK - 

• for every violinist on stage you see. (double if it is a woman)
  
• if u see a male chorist hidden away on the sideline
  
• if u see an un-plugged -instrument. (or no mic)
  
• for every modulation in the music (or as monty python has it "and then we change the keeeeeeeEEEEEY")
  
• windmachine!!!
  
• also if u see your own flag among the crowd 
  

open to more suggestions  
and ofcourse.. i'll be spamming this thread while doing so

and there is Denmark's song that is a total rip-off Bruno Mars' "treasure" (even the guy looks like him)

also the Netherlands had a song with a beginning strangely familiar... 

(hint, every breath you take..)

the funny thing, i believe there was a song some time ago that also had a similar beginning.

Yeah baby! I'm home alone, so it will be non stop Eurovision and Shire time! Do I know how to party or what?  

I really like Conchita too! The voice! Fantastic! I think it is Austria and Norway which seems to stand out, maybe Finland.

But I haven't seen all the songs though. Seems the semi final I am watching have basically the same songs as on the one program of the series with Jenny Skavland and the 'jury' talking about the songs.

I *think* it is a good thing, but it seems there are few of those "typical" eurovision songs, it's all beat and pop.

Awww. Eurostralia!  

yeah.. but i still love it  and i am 100% sure Conchita will win, like i would bet money on it  you like my drinking game?  a friend of mine was like "Nora, vet du kor mange nordmenn som tar danskebåten over til hovedstaden?!"  hadn't thought of that..

I like that it seems to have become an annual thing to have/let Australia take part in one way or another.

yepp, also the danish crwon princess is australian, right? i think one should let the ozzies join in

And Azerbabajan is quite the contrast to those first two! Now for Iceland.

iceland is great! and i kinda like the azerbajan one.

Iceland was brill! But 'silent storm' gives me a good, mushy, relaxed feeling, .

They really go through the songs in a hurry! No 10 minute introduction of each country, it's almost a bit stressful.

Sweden is not bad!

Seems France has found inspiration from your Movember story, Norc.

Finland is a favorite too. Coldplay light I think someone called them. Jenny Skavland perhaps? Quite fitting.
