How to drink without getting drunk

This weekend I already was going to after work parties, no time to buy the packet of yeast. But others had read the same article and are keen to give it a try. Maybe next weekend I'll have some data for you.

Well for a proper experiment you will need a comparison anyway- so your job this weekend is just to keep drinking- see how much you can drink before you pass out/end up in hospital/jail cell.

Then next weekend take the yeast and do the same again.

Well there has to be some reason for liking PJ    and obviously being sober all the time is highly suspect behaviour (its a cultural thing- try saying you dont want a drink when offered one in a Scottish pub- the common reply to insisting you dont drink and dont want one is 'aye yi do.' People who dont drink are to be viewed with deep suspicion and no small measure of disbelief)

Figgy's not alone ! Im not a drinker anymore either ! so, *raspberry's* to you   I used to drink anything, anytime, by the gallon, but, I got a terrific ulcer & suffered Acid reflux so bad, I decided to hit the soft stuff ! I was told the acid would burn right thru my esophagus & make a hole      That was enough for me !

If anything, alcohol should make watching The Hobbit and, in your case, LotR easier. Though it might just make you angrier. One never knows until the bottles are opened and emptied

I can only envisage watching the Hobbit or the LotRs having one effect on Petty.

I can understand needing to be drunk to be able to put up with Scottish men.    

It Scottish women make us drink! (This has led to a bit of a country wide imbalance, with our Parliament dominated by sober women   and now young girls here growing up think running the country is a perfectly acceptable job for a women to do   Its probably the beginning of the end, fortunately I plan on being very drunk when the end comes   )

I may be going off for a bit, and I need data. How is are the experiments coming?     

I appear to have left the packets of yeast in my car, which lives no where near me. So no experimenting as yet. Small and easy to lose track of, them things (yeast packets, not the car).

I will be reunited with my car this weekend, and plenty of drinking chances. So I intend to put the yeast packets to the test.

Perhaps as a comparison I should try to drink a lot without any yeast involved- purely in the name of science of course    

An (out of) control experiment?

it will be the same weekend, surely that's enough control of external variables.

I feel I would only be letting you down if I didn't volunteer my services as a control on this experiment. Its a personal sacrifice I shall just have to make

Just out of interest this 'personal sacrifice' wouldn't by any chance be a common occurrence would it?

Repeatability is key to any scientific investigation.

Sad to say the experiment was quickly cut short before it began, as I got very sick the first night, which I believe was due to some laced chocolate someone was being free with. Won't make that mistake again.
