Goodness, I forgot all about this thread!

Hmm...  study    scratch

Some rotund creatures lie sluggish and dull,
But I am most spry when I am fat.
With expansive girth I frolic about,
leaping right over your hat.

Shrugging All I could think of in the moment!

And now there was nothing but the roofs of houses, sweeping along like a great torrent of stones and rocks. Chimney-pots fell, and tiles flew from the roofs..."

scratch

...I've forgotten the answer to my own riddle!
A balloon perhaps?

Anyway:

Fruit of the earth, and fruit of the stalk,
mashed and mixed and rolled.
Shape of the iron, and heat of the flame,
A bed in the shape of the world.

Fruit of the beast, and fruit of the cane,
Spread with fine cutlery.
Coiled and roiled and popped in a mouth,
it sure tastes delicious to me.

Haha that was awful, oh well.

I can't believe Forrest forgot the answer to his own riddle. Rolling Eyes But balloon fits.

On the second one: Cinnamon Roll.

Nope, nope. Closest with waffle. "Apple of the earth" would be a nearer hint for the first line.

It's the "coiled" that's causing the problems.

Never heard of 'em. Shrugging I don't think we have them on the East Coast and Wikipedia seems to imply as much too. Definitely makes sense with your clues, though!

...Missing out guys! My grandma had them around a lot when I visited. And we'd sometimes get them for a treat. I haven't seen them out here anywhere, but they do sell it in stores in Minnesota I know.

I find that other spreadables on them are similarly satisfactory, jellies for example.

Look like flour tortillas to me. We would sometimes put butter and brown sugar on them. but the potato would likely soften them up.

Changes the flavour of course. And they are softer yes. It's quite comforting.

Post by Forest Shepherd Fri Jan 29, 2021 10:15 am

I found yet another riddle elsewhere on the forum the answer to which I no longer remember. Apparently I thought of it while doing dishes...

"What's blue inside blue inside the deep blue?"

scratch

I did post it six years ago, to be fair. Just buggered if I can remember it is all.
