Presumably Gollums cave.

Not really no. There's this from Sir Ian's blog about Sherlock actor Cumberbatch joining the cast;

"Philippa Boyens showed me a snippet of his screen-test, played in close-up into the camera. It was electrifying, vocally and facially. Yes, what can he be playing?"- maybe he's Smaug!

and then there was also this; "I introduced Sylvester McCoy to one of his Dr. Who fans, Peter Jackson."

I don't know how to take that! Happy that such luminaries have the good taste to like the Doctor but that means taste wise I have something in common with PJ! Shocked

At least if there was you could fit all the made up parts PJ has invented into it- and then prefreably send them all to a time before film was invented! Twisted Evil

PJ might use the Tardis to go back and remake LotR. He could go about many many times and get it right without having to use "real" 2011 hours. He could also reuse money that was wasted. Maybe we should suggest it, Petty.

Mmm, shame we don't have a Tardis, however we could just lure him into an old Police Box and reek a terrible revenge on him for LotR's if he falls for it then leave him locked up in there? Good thinking.

PJ has answered the first of his 20 questions on his facebook page;

VALERIA KEMENTARI asked, "Are we going to see the White Council attacking Dol Guldor?"

This was quite a popular topic, with JOHN LIDDLE, TOBY PHILLIPS and SETH DONALD, along with many others, asking variations of this same question.
I'm not going to say just what and when, but I will confirm that both the White Council and Dol Guldur will feature in the movies. And not just in one scene either. Just how to visualise it has been a challenge, but fortunately Alan Lee and John Howe went crazy with ideas, and it should look pretty cool.

Cool? Here comes the crabbit again! Evil or Very Mad What do they mean crazy with ideas. Its a ruddy big tower on an outcrop of rock in the sothern end of a forest! Whats he turned it into? Evil or Very Mad

Towers? Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn. Been there, done that. This is the creative team that had Alan Lee redesign Cirith Ungol for RotK because the the look, as described in the book, was too boring. (No kidding - go and watch EE documentary features if your forehead can take the amount of facepalming you will do Smile ). Razz

"I don't believe you had much trouble with the look of the films!" -Kafria

A fair point Kafria. I certainly didn't, and the look of the films is one of the few things I do regularly praise about PJ's efforts. But whilst in the films PJ mucked about like a demented child in a sweet shop with plot, characters ect, he didn't set scenes in locations Tolkien had not described in some detail. And, with the exception mentioned above by Eldo, for the most part they followed the book descriptions of places. THere aren't any very detailed descriptions of Dol Guldur that I know of. The only written scene I can think of set there in the books is Gandalf's recounting of meeting Thorin in the dungeons there. My fear, based with good reason on PJ's past efforts, is that given room to swing a cat he'll try to swing an elephant. He can't resist. If he's decided he has space to be 'creative' in the design of Dol Guldur then I fear the worse.

The version of Dol Guldur shown in Born of Hope seemed perfectly good to me and fitted the descriptions given by Tokien-what's wrong with something like it?!

If PJ sticks a big eye on top of it I really will kill him this time!! Evil or Very Mad

I just hope for no unneccessary romance. I swear, if Itaril is in it, i may not watch it. Even though Orlando Bloom IS in it. I'm ok with putting in a character that exists but wasn't put in the book. NOT ok with some made up one.

Well, I don't suppose a budding romance is all that bad... Perhaps a Jillaroo and Thorin... In his dying scene he could make a lovely commentary on Jillaroos (and the rugged outback life), and thwarted love, and kangaroos... Nice Ozzie touch.. worth thinking about PJ... (I'm sure we could fit a koala in somewhere..)

It's scary- I'll be 19 when the first film is released! The production of The Hobbit has taken over six years of my childhood! Very Happy I wonder what I'll be doing at 19... Question But agreed, there is so much more to the forum than talking about Hobbit movie production, in fact I haven't really discussed anything hobbit since we were back at the old forum! Very Happy

But I don't want any romance!
