Personally I feel that Middle-earth should have more cheery beauty in it and less drab, but I imagine they're going for a certain mood.

I see my deliberate mistake ! I was meant to post a pic by some Italian named geezer & Lo, Ted turned up instead Smile Games are no different than books or films in my view. You can see some stunning art work in them.

Talking of which I like the Gandalf/Bilbo one for its line work, but not sure about the composition, and the Bombadil one, particularly Bombadil in that one, reminds me of illustrations from A Christmas Carol. }}}
