Yes but its the wrong releationship- in the film he wants her and he sees into her heart (as hes actually using Gandalf words about her of course) and tries to use that to manipulate her into falling for him. And in the end she defiantly and outright rejects it.
In the book he is turning her against her own in bitterness, she could easily have come to see Rohan as just a bunch of scummy peasants on horses not worth giving her life away to when she ought to be and could be so much more. And from bitterness to hatred.
I think seeing that dynamic play out would be interesting.

Of all my purist edits then Norc my version of TT is the one I would be most interested in your thoughts on- it was my least favourite of the 3 films but is now my favourite of my edits.

Oh its my PC, I need a better graphics card thats all, Il get one cheap off Ebay or where-ever, The films downloaded, just jerky a tad cos card needs upgrading, Thankyou tho Petty !

No probs- if you can get a file convertor program you can always convert it to non HD -reduce the picture quaity but make the file size much smaller so it will play smooth.

You know Mrs Figg, you and Petty are the classic case of being in violent agreement.
Petty has never understood why PJ needed to chop up Tolkien's story in exactly the same way.
Having read the books many times before I say the movies,
and then seen the PJ Extended Editions several times before I say Petty's edits
I feel qualified to say that Petty's edits are every bit as respectful of PJ's movies as PJ and company are respectful of JRRT's books.
And I believe they are. To me they make 3 corners of a triangle telling the same story. It's pretty cool really!

sorry Dave but I love LOTR just the way PJ made them. For me they are perfection that I dont want to see chopped up. If you like the edits better thats your prerogative. I dont have an issue with edits and I wasnt referring to Pettys edits btw, I was talking about general critisism on forums, and when I say critisism I am talking about the endless and wearying negativity about every last detail. Thats why I dont post much on Bree, I got bored out of my mind with the carping, it used to be for discussion about Tolkien and degenerated into a PJ bashing forum, which is boring.

I used to like Bree. Reading the back and forth between members made me think about my own views about the book's themes, but now it's just people stopping by to say they don't like the atmosphere and posters. That's boring, I think.

yes its no fun any more. There used to be a lot of people with a good balance of views which made it interesing, but when its all negative it just goes in circles.

I've been a Tolkien fan for about 40 years and I've met a lot of people who think they know the one and only truth about it all. I'm fine with that, but when they start preaching and proselytizing about the One True LotR I tend to walk quietly away.

For myself, I love the Story and I love to see other people tell it in their own ways, fan fiction and all. That's what keeps ME alive for new generations. I wish I had the skills to tell it myself.

you knwo the scene that always gets me is the scene where Eomer sees his sister injured on the battelfield.

Yeah, his face looks SO tortured, anyone would think Eowyn really IS his sister, he looks heart broken

yes thats a really powerful scene, he looks in agony. I have never seen any actor look so full of grief before.

yes, you can totally see the fear and sadness and regret and the self-loathing and alll the emotions cus he thinks she is dead and he thought she was safe back home and he ... omg yeah, it's truly great acting.

and he does all that with one scream, 'mazing.

yes.. it gives me a lump in my throat and teary eyes.
