Halfwise which scene do you mean? The Gandalf/witchking or the Smeagol scene? If the former it may be possible, I'm looking into it. If the latter sadly no, there is not more than a few lines left before it turns ugly and there is no exit point from the scene sooner that is not very clumsy and awkward- I wish there was though. No scratch that, I wish PJ had not niicked the scene for his own limited purposes in the first place. Evil or Very Mad

Actually it was the coven that decided they needed to separate Frodo and Sam. Now I remember - they get the crumbs interspersed with the Tolkien lines.

When I say PJ I am including the Coven under that umbrella- partly because some find the individual term offensive- (it is but they deserve it!) and partly because just thinking of the Coven abusing poor Tolkien in such a disrespectable manner sets off my crabbit meter! Evil or Very Mad

In fact now I am thinking of it again what a couple of !*@"!*@*& cows! Extremely Crabbit

Yes, you may need a lie down, Petty. You do seem to becoming softer on PJ and his Witches. It's probably linked to that Curse I mentioned earlier... Insidious business through and through... Shocked

Finally sat down and finished Book 2. Nothing too unexpected here.

There is some elven conversation in Rivendell which I think you altered, but can't say much unless I go back and compare it to the original. There are a couple of nice shots which have nothing to do with what Tolkien said explicitly yet don't contradict him, but I think they were connected to wild interpolations you cut out. The arrow in Moria at the crumbling staircases which is shot by Legolas and followed closely by the camera until it hits its mark was memorable and I was sorry to see it go, could it be cut into the end of the bridge scene? Same lighting. I also like the one when the Uruk Hai with the bow is standing a few feet in front of a kneeling Boromir, looking up at him as the bow is drawn. I'd have to go back to the original and see if you lose continuity when Aragorn's fight with him is cut out. No contradiction with Tolkien but an awfully sweet shot.

The bow shot with Boromir had to go because the fight is gone- as I dont use that orc character like PJ does, as a surrogate bad guy, he doesnt require a story arc, so the fight, which is anyway a pointless give hero Aragorn a baddie to battle at the end of the movie stuff had to go that shot included- and if I leave it in but not the fight then Boromir should be dead by the tme Aragorn gets to him- so it had to go.

The Legolas shot in Moria was a good one but is part of the collapsing staircase sequence- I dont think it could just be pasted into another scene, although you never know, I will have a look.

From book 3 is where it starts to get a lot more interesting regards editorial choices! I look forwrad to seeing what you make of it Halfwise.
