How'd you get ME in the second picture?!

Thanks Halfy... was going to ask what it was but now I know.

You look like one of those toys that yaps and then does a backflip.

I...um....(shuffles feet in embarrassment) .....sort of yeah.

That's a great snowfall. There's reports that we might get snow here, but I'm a bit worried because they're saying it'll be a result of a winter storm and a hurricane colliding this weekend. They're calling it the "Frankenstorm".

NB If I disappear from the forum on or about Sunday, it's probably because I lost power.

"Frankenstorm"- thats so American News- I bet there a graphic to go with it.

Started snowing here- but its the crappy wet kind and wont lie- just cold and wet.

It was raining sideways all afternoon today, well over 45 from vertical! You could watch the pressure waves moving through the sheets of rain as the gusts passed, like rolling zebra stripes.

Now I've got a big fire crackling in the woodstove, and all the soaking wet layers of clothing I was wearing today hanging from the rack above it, dripping and sizzling onto the stove. Life is good!

If only I had that buckie right now, but I'll settle for a beer.

I'm not a big fan of rain but that sounds like a pretty great way to end the day.

I have to ask though: to what animal does the orange butt in your second picture belong?

Oh that butt! That's Bowditch. He's half Labrador and he's not allowed in the field so he's waiting on the grass for the people to come back.

Hurricane Sandy is coming and there's likely to be widespread power outages, flooding, etc. There's a good chance that both Halfwise and I -- despite living rather far apart -- will both lose power sometime in the next 48 hours.

See, that's the good part of living by Lake Michigan; no tornadoes or hurricanes! (But the weather is always horrid! )
