New Years eve and LOTR 4 K
I will be watching LOTR extended on 4 K this new years for the first time. My oldest son is coming home and staying the weekend and me, the wife, and our four kids will be eating pizza, chips, soda, candy, and other delicious type food while watching FOTR on our new 4 k tv tonight. Tomorrow, it will be more of the same. i think hotdogs baked beans chips etc while watching the two towers. My kids are not nearly as excited as i am but i have already told them they have no choice in the matter, same goes for my wife.
If i really push my luck on Sunday we will watch ROTK.

Re: New Years eve and LOTR 4 K
Sound lovely! We're doing something similar, now that the kids are old enough. We're gonna plow through all the star wars movies (originals first of course) before we see the mandalorian. (Gonna be interesting since I rage quit after seeing episode 2 back in the days and haven't seen anything since.)
Already seen Predator and Die Hard. Important to introduce the kids to the classics.

Re: New Years eve and LOTR 4 K
"love scenes" from Episode 2 makes you wonder if George Lucas ever convinced anyone to have kids with him. But other parts of it are worth enough that if you know exactly when to run into the kitchen to bake brownies (then again to mix drinks, and again to maybe grill a steak) it can be okay.

{{dont forget to scare and traumatize them, Robocop, The Thing, Evil Dead 2 (though its more of a laugh) Alien 1 & 2, Jaws, (after all you dont want them swimming in fjordians seas or the jævla stor sild will get them) and Outland (cause its underrated classic more people should see!)
And obviously you should all be watching my purist edits

I already have a list of movies that they are forced to watch depending on age. As well I made my wife watch a bunch of movies before I would get married to her. Some things are just to important.

We just finished the first disk of TT. It has been amazing. I highly recommend 4 K I could not watch it any other way now that I have seen it.
