Tolkien related video's.

Was going to put them in the Youtube thread, but thought anything Tolkien deserves its own thread.

Most people on here have probably seen them anyway, but if you havn't "hey" a bonus.

The first set of thematic clips (mithril, moria, etc) are quite nice. Of the history of middle earth clips I was watching the Witch King one, which seems to be an odd mashup of LotR movies, Game of Thrones, and other things I don't recognize. Rather incoherent, but nice visuals.

The story of Lady Galadriel? Why must people poke my nest of hornets, burn my toast, and rot my cabbage all at once? Her history goes...

I actually liked that. It was fresh & different. Who's to say what went thru Tolkiens mind. What thoughts stayed with him. My grandad couldnt forget what he saw in the war so, how did it effect Tolkien ? Was LOTRs an antidote, an escape from some of the things that would not let Tolkien forget ?

I find myself intensely disliking most of the speakers. Insufferable prats. Probably just the mood I'm in: saw this some years ago and it didn't bother me.

The only reason I put this here & not on the youtube thread is, it reminds me of Laurelin, the golden tree from Silmarillion

I vaguely remember those, nice to see them in HD now.

I like that. The Barrow Downs preceded the war of wrath? The Barrow wights only entered in Third Age 1600 or so? That's the founding of the Shire, thought it would have been earlier.
