I know what you mean about feeling an affinity for certain characters. 
I've been trying to remember what episode it's from though. I wanna say "The Serpent's Pass" where they're swimming in the river next to the waterfall but I'm not sure.

Characters, and people. It's a bit of a problem, really.
Ahh.. I was so sure it was from the start of A cave of two lovers.. but it's not. It's the one where he gives Katara the replacement bracelet.. It's the opening of one episode or other.

Only in Australia: A mature Lace Goanna (a monitor lizard) was spotted on a residential property in Thurgoona, NSW, earlier this week. Photo by Eric Holland.
Lace Monitors can grow up to 2 m in length and weighing about 20 Kg. From the comments at the Aussie site: "Their bite is septic and if you want to corner one, you will find out how sharp their teeth and claws are. They are known to stand up on their hind legs in battle. I've heard stories that if there are no trees around for them to run up to get away, they will run up a person."

there seem to be two types of animals in Oz, either its the most poisonous murderous thing on the planet or its cute and cuddly furball with zero defence mechanism like a koala. theres no happy medium.
