it's clear now that you guys are another generation.. see i, as a youthful 20 year-old, use it to keep in contact with real life friends and family. not so say your not real, but on facebook i actually have some control of who sees my photos/statuses etc. i have the same control of my privacy when i am on forums since i myself choose what i post. BUT when people i am friends with both on forum and facebook start posting my facebook pictures here, i loose that control. see?so when i actually befriend people from the forum on facebook i trust you with this knowledge and morally insight.

I am not for a moment going to dispute your right to choose what you want private and not.
But from my point of view my thought process went- 'nearly finished the front page. Bollocks the bottom right quarter of that picture is too empty, needs something in it to balance out the troll. Ah I could stick that picture of norc in there she is using as her avatar. Bollocks she's only gone and taken the bloody thing down!! Fjordians!!   Maybe there is a picture I can use on her blog- bollocks I cant remember the site I'll try facebook, right need one thats relatively recent as its a birthday issue, and ideally fun but not too embarrassing, ah that one looks perfect, fun, you'd only recognize her if you knew who it was already as she is wearing halloween make up, and besides she put her photo up as her avatar and Huffjuff posted that picture of her on her birthday thread already, that'll do the pub opens soon, right Ill just crop this down to a head shot pop it in the corner to balance the picture out. Job done. Pub time!'

And as always when I am putting a birthday issue together my motivation is to try to make an issue that whoevers birthday it is will enjoy and others can too.

As I said not to dispute your right to make private anything you like just to explain why I didn't think twice about using that particular picture.

and again, as i said, no worries, not mad, just  now people know and don't let it happen again  the birtday issue was lovely, although i just now saw those naked men  (my phone would show everything...)

talking of moral insight. I hit the headlines of my nearby town on Friday. Mr Figg sidled up to me and said, ''you really must read the local newspaper, you seem to have done (your usual idiotic stuff) on page 2, ((((((No. page 2 )))) to which I replied, ''Buggering Bollocks!''
Seems I upset some people going up to a policeman and telling him to remove a pornographic t-shirt from a shop window on a busy street. By all accounts the shop owner, a loud mouthed yobbette, risked a fine. (but she didnt get one) So be it, if it protects passing children from an eyefull of someones proffered arsecrack. and they had the mindblowingcheek to call 'whoever' had called the cops, 'from the stone age'. Like pictures of naked women being groped in the back passage, are 'Progress'. more to the point, who on earth apart from a sexworker would wear such a thing? bonkers. Anyway it was so scandalous that it got in the local rag. Most of the comments were on Yobbettes side. odd to say the least.

What audacity of them to question your pure motives! I think you should publicly shame said yobbette by posting a picture of that t-shirt right here so we can declaim her as well! (being the pure souls that we are.)

Sounds to me though Figg the problem here is an unrespectable shop front, without a nice sign saying "Emporium for discreet ladies", frosted glass, and no sil y little girls serving, but a proper shop proprietor Lady in a bustle, prefarrably with a dash of flame to her hair. Thats when you know you've got respectable. And a half price sale on Farmer Daves Special Housewives Friend Vegetables sold only to Ladies of certain proper disposition and known character.

Screw them! You did the right thing Figgs! I don't think I'd have the guts to actually do something about it, but I completely agree with you. Just because society is more lenient about fornication, it doesn't mean the same psychological and emotional effects of it have lessened at all. People are weird.

I would think that most of the "psychological and emotional effects" of witnessing nudity (whether the witnesser is an adult or a child) are largely dependent to do with the social attitudes that person is accustomed to. So society becoming more lenient would in fact mean fewer people are likely to freak out at the sight of nudity (IMO). But I haven't seen the shirt in question (though it does sound distasteful to wear in public).

Do you get angry about those post cards Figgy? You know the ones I mean!!!

On a similar note, there is a fishermans calendar that I saw in a fishing shop a few days back which was pretty much page 3 girls with fish. I am still not sure what to make of it.

Fish and girls seem to go together somehow.... Might be thinking of mermaids...
