The PJ blog
I don't know if you have all scene this yet, but PJ is going to be posting blogs on his facebook page every now and again, and I have to admit I got really excited from seeing the whole gang back together again. The whole Itaril thing had me down in the dumps, but seeing how things are going, I feel as though that blasphemous character will never leave her powerful domain as a rumour!!!!!!!!
Anyway, here's a link to the Facebook page. I'm not sure how to post videos (it's probably really easy, I'm just incapable) so someone else might want to do that.

Re: The PJ blog
I finally got around to watching this and I really enjoyed it. I'm curious to see more, especially of the design elements.

Loved it! Can't wait for more of them

Re: The PJ blog
As before everything looks superb, but far from it for me to be one to say something down about it, but there were bits to be crabbit about. Spinning dwarfs hacking down 10 orcs at a time? Ridiclous wirework barrel riding stunts by the looks of it too! No! Don't let PJ pull the glossy wool of surface appearences over your eyes. I give the video 4 out of 5 for how everything looks and 1 for PJ still obviously favuing spectacle over content. So about a 7 out of 10 on the Crabbit meter (mark XXIII).

Re: The PJ blog
Enjoyed this vid, nice to see so many things I recognise. I never realised the narsil set was upstairs though! And petty, the only thing was the barrel bit, but maybe thats Bilbo struggling to get on the last barrel? it falls through the trapdoor with him falling after it?
They were very careful not to show anything after the spy shots, it was also quite funny how unenthusiastic most of them were about the filming of the Vlog!

I had not, admittedly, thought of that. It is possible, but my natural mistrust of PJ's ability not to go completly over the top overruled my thinking. That and he is shooting the location shots in actual rapids means I remain at best suspicous.

Apparently PJ wanted to do a tribute/anniversary dvd of lotr's but Warner Brothers or whoever didn't want to.
Shame, would have liked to see some extra footage and odds and sods.

But doesn't PJ and New Line own the rights to LOTR? surely the stuff in cupboards is their intellectual property or whatever it is, therefore he can dig out anything he likes. surely?

Re: The PJ blog
Warner Bros (which New Line was absorbed into) has a license to make Middle-earth movies, but the rights belong to the Saul Zaentz Company (dba Middle-earth Enterprises). PJ himself does not own any particular rights related to Middle-earth or the movies. The copyrights to the films themselves (not the overall intellectual property) belong to WB.
The issue with the lack of bonus material in the combined LOTR/TH box set was simply that WB didn't want to pay for the creation of new documentaries and such.

Re: The PJ blog
I still haven't seen movie three of the Hobbit. Nor watched the first two parts again. Nor have I watched LotR. It's better for my health that way.... I also want to read the books again - if ever I can suppress PJ's efforts from my mind...

I caught 10 minutes of Unexpected Journey on TV a few months back, that was enough for me...
Keep telling myself I'll do a LOTR marathon one day, it's been years since I've seen them the whole way through...

Someone as well versed & educated as a wombat warrior that is Orwell would have seen LOTRs in order to teach us the correct version
