Re: Forumshire: The First Five Years
Tarrant was his birth name, he changed it some years ago. Not sure when. But he might have been Dawson while he was Tarrant instead of Taz.

Thanks, Amarië. When I go through to edit this section again I'll find some way of fixing that paragraph (as well as your name).
Re: Forumshire: The First Five Years
Dot the e and just say he was recognized and changed to a name we knew.

Dang it, Eldo. I know you probably have final exams and stuff that will dictate how the rest of your life will play out...but you also have a history to finish writing.

Re: Forumshire: The First Five Years
I was working on the review this afternoon. It's posted now, though it was a bit of a rush job at the end since I've got to head out. I plan to finish the history over the weekend.
And fortunately, I don't have to worry about exams these days.

Re: Forumshire: The First Five Years
Hey! Where's the next bit, Eldo? You know, the bit where Amarié got her kit off (apparently) so as to distract you while her Evil Emperor slipped in the back door with his ferocious freedom crushing horde... Odo won't approve, of course, but it will make for exciting reading, I'm sure...

Re: Forumshire: The First Five Years
Thank you, Chris!
I don't want this to fall behind like some of my fiction, but I was legit busy today. On top of the film and the review, I had work this morning, and I was out all evening visiting with someone.

That scene might end up on the unrated DVD edition.

It's been, like, frigging ONE DAY!
Awesome thread. Totally awesome history Eldo. Can't wait to read the next installment! Do I get an honorable mention? I haven't posted here nearly enough! All my good writing is now on a site that looks like it's going through its death throws!

She's a tough old beast though; it'll probably be a while longer before Bree is actually gone for good.

Re: Forumshire: The First Five Years
If you want a proper history of Dark Planet Day Malick I suggest reading my true account of the event rather than the stuff Eldo, and especially Orwell try to spin about it.
You can find it here (The Darkest Day) the links are in Eldo's first post to make it easier to find the parts. There are other excellent accounts there too I recommend, but mine is the only true one taking account of all the crabbit and buckie aspects others leave out.

Re: Forumshire: The First Five Years
Thanks, Malick! It's been quite a ride with this community. I worried when I was writing the history that I'd be the only one to find such a detailed history of an online forum to be worth reading, so it's really gratifying to get such a positive response.
And I highly recommend Petty's The Darkest Day for a fictionalized account of the events of February 2011. The other writings in that thread are also very good, IMO.

Re: Forumshire: The First Five Years
When can we expect the next installment?

Re: Forumshire: The First Five Years
The thing is Eldo can write whatever he wants and I wouldn't know if it is the truth or not.
So if he want's to explain the origins of Petty and Figg's unrequited love affair, I'm all ears...
