I would like to give a shout-out to an ancestor of mine.
Angus "Pure" Tyrant. On this day in 1563 he founded Scotland's first Crabbit Academy, inspired after being served a particularly unpalatable lunch- the waiter was French which might go a long way to explaining things- he is is the creator of the Crabbit Scale, whose discovery and charting laid the foundations for Pure's most popular invention, the Crabbit Meter. And in a stroke of marketing genius he sold it at twice the cost it should have been and made sure everyone knew this so that the meter would read their crabbitness immediately, proving it worked.
The study of crabbit mathematics, crabbit weaponry and political uses are all credited to him.
And to cap his crabbit life in retirement he was the founder of the Daily Pure, which sadly went under the following century but rose once more in the modern age to prominence.
He was buried in in the town centre to ensure the most people possible were inconvenienced by it, making the whole town crabbit. A fitting tribute!

Well you have certainly made me crabbit PettyTyrant 101, I wouldn't be surprised if that was your crafty ploy all along! Post a really long shoutout, so Saradoc's phone takes forever and an age to load the flipping page! It's not the anniversary of his death is it, for if it is, I can understand. But otherwise....!

"so Saradoc's phone takes forever and an age to load the flipping page!"- Saradoc

Well its not my fault you get a rubbish signal down a mine! Bloomin' dwarves, of course your crabbit you live in a dark hole!
And no its not the anniversary of ole Pure Tyrant. its the anniversary of his founding the Crabbit Academy of which I happen to be an illumni, one of the few proud, but crabbit, members of the Order of the Seriously Crabbit. So for me it is a day worth, well not celebrating, the fees are huge, the whole place is corrupt, but it is a day to be crabbit on.
opps sorry Saradoc, longish post again, at least you can be crabbit, see how helpful I am?

Shout outs! Empty Re: Shout outs!

Post by Squach Mon Apr 04, 2011 7:30 pm

Well, here goes...

My laptop, called Molly, started out in a big, ugly factory. She began as a piece of Intel Celeron Inside stuff.

Then Molly was moved along a bumpy conveyor belt and was picked up by a biiiiiig metal grabber. It was very uncomfortable and as much as Molly shuffled and squirmed, she couldn't break free! A gigantical, plate-thing, made of plastic, was shoved underneath Molly, but they became friends.
Many more pieces were added in the same way, and Molly was shoved and pushed, and she had so many friends that she had a headache that was bigger than the world!
She felt very tired, and so did all of her friends. They needed energy, lots of it!

A bright light shone... They were saved!
Their new friend was a battery!!!

Then a big mean machine came and set down the rules:
1. They can't explode without permission
2. They can't fight without permission
3.They can't stop working without good reason.
4. They must behave under the Windows 7 rules.

Then they were put together and dropped in a box. The box was dropped in a van, then dropped at a PC World store. Then the box was picked up with the most care. It was opened with care and turned on for the first time. It made Molly excited to finally get to work!

Hope u liked it!

Queen of the Bee's Knees Squach (such a weird expression- do bees even have knees? And if so what's so good about them?) Anyway I want to give a shout out to my little brother who finished the last of his exams today, Tourism and Leisure (which I pointed out could not be a real exam and to which he replied its 'filler') but nonetheless his last exam is over (and he did do some real ones like Chemistry and Maths -and yes America it has an 's' on the end, what's a math?!-sorry crabbit attack there -and English). So congratulations little bro- well done you can go back to sitting at your pc till 2 in the morning looking at things you shouldn't be and sleeping till midday like a teenager should. Very Happy

Ah, well, I guess I'm looking at a few more years too Wink Got at least one more year to decide what I want to do, however. Next up is a year in the army (there's conscription in Norway). I don't mind, though, should be fun Smile

I'm going up north, so only got to worry about the cold Wink Anyway, when you're conscripted in Norway you usually only serve for one year (and a couple of weeks every year for some years after the first), and during this year you don't participate in combat or military operations abroad (except in times of war). You're only trained as a soldier. This way, if there's an attack on Norway (or there are other significant wars that Norway has to participate in), there's always a reserve of trained people that can be deployed where needed.

What sort of training do you get in that year? What happens to all the fat kids?! And in my school there never seemed to be a shortage of a*seholes and violent idiots, teaching them how to use a weapon would have been a frightening proposition. What happens with the obvious nutters?

I hope it goes well for you (and the cold isn't too bad) and you're still able to find time for the Internet. Very Happy It's a strange thing for me to think about; all I have to do at the age of 18 is register for the draft so that, if there is conscription before I turn 25, the Draft Board can find me (girls don't have to register). They don't even prosecute people for failing to register anymore though, and it's also possible to register as a conscientious objector. Since my parents are Quakers I'm pretty much expected to do that, but I have another year or so to decide. Laughing
