It's been years since I've heard from GB and he appears to have deleted his old Facebook (or at the very least I can't find him either in my friends list or through search). However, I am pleased to be able to report that he is still alive and well. I checked his old Fanfiction.net profile, which I remembered from 2009-10, and he has posted recently there. I sent him a PM, though I don't know if he still checks the FF.n inbox since he seems to have moved on to other fanfic sites, but I figured some of the other oldbies here would appreciate that information.

Unfortunately, some jerk got my FB account suspended for no good reason whatsoever. I started a new one under a different name, but honestly, by that time I was over FB and all the BS!

Over the last year I have mostly been spending all my free time writing and posting Harry Potter fanfic at fanfiction.net and AO3. PM's on my fanfiction.net account will reach me.

I'm glad you still have e-mail notifications on here. Once I remembered my FF.n account and reset the password I did send you a PM on there, but then I had to come back and edit my post here to reflect that.

We've missed you a lot; it's good to hear from you again!

I don't post a ton on FB myself but every now and then I find myself wondering what you make of the 2016 campaign.

Well, Donald Trump is proving to be both horrifying and entertaining.

I'm a Bernie Sanders supporter of course--though I will hold my nose and pull the lever for Hillary if she gets the nomination.

And honestly, for the first time in my life--after nearly 40 years of being politically aware--I'm actually sick of politics!

Sounds like we're in a similar boat with the candidates. I had gotten really sick of politics by the time I graduated (with a B.A. in political science ) but I've started paying a bit more attention recently.  Guess distance really does make the heart grow fonder, or else not having to take exams on it made me remember why I found it interesting in the first place.

I'm still following things a bit--and doing a bit to support the things I believe in online--I just can't help myself.

But it was all the infighting on FB between Hillary and Bernie supporters which finally got to me. You'd think being a longtime Pragmatic Anarcho-Socialist who votes for Democrats--that I'd be inured to all that sort of thing--but I just couldn't take it anymore.

Not to mention that I realised that I needed to really focus on writing if I wanted to hone my skills enough to eventually write my own original fiction.

erotic Harry Potter fiction? I hope its Snape and me, or Snape, me and Sirius. that would be nice.

Of course PJ's Hobbit adaptations are a work of sheer genius.

My singular complaint is that he bolloxed up the pairing when he stole my idea for a little-person/Tauriel pairing after reading my Bilbo/Tauriel fanfic.

I mean, geez, if you're going to fanfic the hell out of an adaptation anyway, why not go all the way the way and give us a juicy headcanon like Frodo being the secret lovechild of Bilbo and Tauriel, right?

It was very kind of PJ to ship me and Galadriel though!
