Slightly depression fact about team GB's medal winners-

'half of Great Britain's medals came from just 7% of the population who are privately educated.
Chairman of the British Olympic Association Lord Moynihan called for an urgent overhaul of school sport policy, saying private school dominance of sports was "wholly unacceptable".
Around 7% of children in the country are privately educated, but at the last Olympics one third of Team GB went to independent schools, nearly 40% of British medal winners, and 50% of gold medallists.'

Thats how I feel inside when I see an unopened bottle of buckie- obviously if you're someone who drinks buckie you arent going to be leaping off the ground though unless someone sticks a spike up your arse.

The NFL season is incredibly short! Considering they have about 300 players in the team, you would think they could last more than Sept-Feb.

As much as I like NFL (have been to 3 of the london games).. I do think that it should be a little longer.

cheers Glad to hear you and Squach had a good time Kafria.
I feel for proper understanding and the deserved careful watching of play that beach volleyball requires I would have to insisit on a ring-side seat. Nod
(Are you allowed to take opera glasses to beach volleyball?)

I hope to be able to watch the 200m final live, assuming NBC doesn't decide to delay it. Bolt gave one of the most exciting performances of the 2008 Olympics and I hope he's able to defend both of his titles. Very Happy

Yeah, I have been reading about that. I dont get why they would not run it live even if they did it again in primetime on a highlights reel.

Would piss me off!!

Get to see the 200m semi finals tomorrow. Will try and post some pictures when I am back.

Yep, even Martian women!

Judging by some of the shotputters, they are allowing dwarf women in too.

Hussain Bolt does it again and becomes the first person to defend both their Olypmpic titles.
Got to wonder, Bolt, if there is a God He would seem to have a sense of humour.

Its good that we have medalists from all countries within the Team GB banner. Suppose only a shame we don't have a gold medalist from N.Ireland but there are a few silvers there.

Team GB have done brilliantly this games and I think there has been great representation across all the nations within it!!

Congrats to all!
And congrats to Mo Farah for his second gold of the Games! cheers

'Britain's Mo Farah claimed his second gold of the 2012 Olympics with a stunning win in the 5,000m.
The 29-year-old had already won the 10,000m earlier in the Games.
Farah, whose wife will give birth to twin girls very soon, told BBC Sport: "Those two medals are for my two girls. They can have one each." - BBC
