Possible film titles? Empty Possible film titles?

"Exclusive: Dual Hobbit Film Titles Revealed?

Ringer Spy Mr. Underbelly monitors movie titles that are registered by major film studios. Mr. Underbelly noticed that New Line has recently registered the following two film titles:

The Hobbit: There and Back Again

and…

The Hobbit: An/The Unexpected Journey

This is the first indication of what the ‘official’ titles will be of the two Hobbit films. What are your thoughts? Remember, this is not confirmed officially, but it is a relatively good indication of what the two film titles could be."

I like There and Back again, but I hope that will be the name of the second movie. Not sure about "An/The Unexpected Journey". Doesn't really sound like the title of a film. Still, I quite like it. It sounds more like the children's tale The Hobbit really is, even if it is unlikely that the films will be exactly that.

They're okay titles, though I agree about "An Unexpected Journey". I'm a bit disappointed that my favorite choice probably won't be picked. It is:

The Hobbit: There
The Hobbit: Back Again

Overall title: The Hobbit: There and Back Again! Very Happy

I like yours better, though I find it highly unlikely a film will ever be called "There" Laughing

If they wanted an ironic twist, and a risk of a title they should go for: The Hobbit: Ker-ching!

(But of course a film studio would never exaggerate a rather simple story purely for profit, that's just ludicrous... Rolling Eyes)

Laughing Laughing Laughing

Too honest.
How about "Peter Jackson and the Coven present, a Peter Jackson and the Coven production of a story adapted by Peter Jackson and the Coven from some old English professors book, The Hobbit, by Peter Jackson and the Coven."
Too long?
How about "Peter Jackson and the Covens To the Bank and Back Again".

To be serious for once, I don't see what's wrong with The Hobbit: Part 1 and The Hobbit: Part 2. Similar schemes have worked for Kill Bill and the last two Harry Potter movies.

I had thought very much the same Eldo. But that must be too simple or something.
Just one of the many new problems you create if you split one book in two and then make half of it up yourself.
Maybe they are just worried if they call it The Hobbit I will sue them under the trades description act!

Well, like the last Harry Potter film- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1- they could go for The Hobbit: There and Back Again part 1 and part 2.
I personally like both An unexpected journey and There and Back again, very tolkienesque. I think it sounds a lot better than part 1 & 2, gives the film distinction from one another! Just "The Hobbit" could work, but it would seem a bit bland and boring I suspect to the average cinema going. As long as the title isn't as bad as the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, we're in the clear!

Very Happy

How about:

The White Council (more honest at least!)

That might be honest but seeing it written out like that in black and white Kafria has set off my crabbit meter! Evil or Very Mad
I really don't know if I can cope with going to see these films. I'd be just as well inviting PJ and the Coven round to take it in turns kicking me in the b******s for four hours, it'd feel much the same.

Don't go making it even worse Kafria! I can't take it as it is! Surely to Illuvatar he's not going to give us six hours of this? With at least four he's made up no doubt.

Well, hmmmmmm.... I've not speculated on the cut point before as you have, but at the moment, surely the first movie is the hobbit up to Gandalf leaving after Beron and then council and battle with the necromancer. Nice battle to finish with to mirror helms deep in TT (with our elfin warrioress and her true love - who may die tragically). 3 hours at least I'd say.

Then hobbit two continues to follow gandalf as he searchs for the company and their tale till he catches up, told in flash back from people he seeks on the way (elves, barrel rafters, long lake folk) - lots of extra Ian footage, then back into the tale at the lonely mountain to the end, not forgetting to follow bilbo home to the auction, then to finish some scene with Gandalf to close out this story and set up LOTR as Gandalf has become the character we are following through his arc. At least another three I'd say!! Very Happy

Shocked Yikes I've just read that back and thought if all the other stuff is in the only sensible story arc is Gandalfs!!! Shocked Oh Please no! Crying or Very sad

I still think the Coven will try to interweave the two stories, Necromancer and Dragon- I expect both to climax at end of film two- much as the Frodo/Sam line does with the Aragorn and co line at end of RotK.

There's a line in UT I think that is Gandalf talking and roughly he says something about "think what use the Dark Lord could have made of the dragon had I not met Thorin on the road by chance one spring evening." Its exactly little lines like this the Coven run with. I fully expect some allegiance, some connection to be made between Necromancer and Smaug, and the success of the WC against him will be tied into the likelihood of success for Bilbo and the defeat of Smaug. And someone will dangle precariously over a drop.
Oh I hated writing that- but I still expect something horrible along those lines. Evil or Very Mad

There could be a trilogy!!!

Titles are cool! Titles are awesome! Come see titles!

Wait... that last bit doesn't really work.

Ah well, that is the beauty of titles!

I am listening to Taylor Swift on iTunes. I'm listening to her two albums, Fearless and Speak Now. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

I think for the benefit of people with dyslexia, we should steer away from that title! I've only ever heard Fearless, that's her first album with love story on right?? I'm also on Itunes, listening to the MadCap laughs by Syd Barrett! Very Happy

Cool!

Yep, Fearless has Love Story on.
I love Fearless, Love Story, Hey Stephen, The Best Day and Change from that album.

My fave songs from Speak Now are Mine, Sparks Fly, Back To December, Speak Now, Mean, Never Grow Up, Enchanted, Better Than Revenge, Innocent and Last Kiss.

(Which is pretty much all of them)
