A problem!
What an awesome topic title.
Petty's having some problems posting in threads, any idea what might be causing the problem, Eldo? He gets this error message: "Zero Sized Reply ". There's been a while since people have been online, so there's reason to believe that others are having the same problems as well, which again gives reason to believe that there's a problem with the forum. Could use the supergeek emoticon now Any ideas, Eldo?

Re: A problem!
I'm not the tech guru Eldo, but having previously ran a forummotion forum, I have seen this error before. If I remember correctly, the issue is only temporary and goes away after a while. It's a problem at forummotion's end, they do occasionally have a few sever problems!
p.s I thought the lack in activity was due to half-term holidays! I'm pretty sure that's why Kafria isn't on at the mo, but if I can't post this message I'll know I'm wrong!

Re: A problem!
Hopefully not a problem that will raise its head again- no idea what sorted it- went to work came home and it works- good enough for me!

Re: A problem!
Sorry I haven't been on that much guys, schoolwork is bearing down on me. I'm not guru-y enough to know what the error is, but based on some e-mails with Petty I have to agree that it sounds like a server issue, which is something that's in Forumotion's court. I hope the error doesn't come back, but if it does, mention it here or send me an e-mail please. Also, thanks for the extra perspective, Ally.
Re: A problem!
I've been getting the cursed 'zero sized squid' thingy again when I try to post.
In desperation I switched from Firefox to IE. And no problems so far so might be a firefox thing if anyone else has any trouble.
And since switching to IE I've discovered there are ads on here! Firefox muxt have been blocking them before.

Re: A problem!
You're not by any chance using the firefox addon "adblocker" or whatever it's called? Not having any problems with firefox myself, but will keep IE in mind in case I do

Re: A problem!
Yeah, adblock and a host of other plugins. The plugins are one of the reasons I prefer Fifrefox but could be one or other of them is giving me problems.

I was aware that Forumotion put ads on their forums, but I didn't really notice them until my Google Chrome adblocker (which is still in beta, I believe) started to have problems. Fortunately they're mostly if not entirely text and are fairly easy to skim past once the initial surprise is gone. I hardly notice them anymore.
Re: A problem!
It's the principle, surely.

Ads have only been gone for going on two years now, you know.
Also, damn, reading this thread for the first time since early 2011 reminded me how genuine and normal Ally used to be!

Re: A problem!
We got rid of them about six months before you joined. This is a really old thread that Orwell bumped.
Re: A problem!
My mistake.

Re: A problem!
Still trying to figure out why I can't see profile pics, signatures or half the emojis. I've unblocked just about everything I can, and still no luck. Not a big problem really since I seem to have most of the emoji codes memorized , but certainly enough to justify resurrecting an old thread!
{{It does make for interesting reading though, as words like drunken, handbag, and banghead will appear seamingly randomly within the texts. }}
Also wondering, I saw Halfy and Az use something called servimg to post images. Is this something connected to this site, or is it a new image hosting site something like photobucket used to be, and if so are there strings attached?

Re: A problem!
{{ Mmm try deleting all your cookies and internet history- see if that helps? Or maybe try it in different browser and see if you have the same issues?
Dunno about servimg but I use imgbb for posting on here- https://imgbb.com/ -you just upload a picture, once done click on it will open in full screen, then below it will be a bunch of codes-
You want the Full Image BB image code for posting on a forum, just click on it and will say 'copy' then just paste it here and bingo, image.
No catches, no costs or anything, but it also doesnt give you a folder or anything for all your pictures- youll either have to keep the code to find it again or just click on the embedded image should take you to it. }}

Re: A problem!
servimg is built in. Go to "host an image" in the tool bar above the message being composed, then paste the result into "insert image" right next to it in the tool bar.
but if you can't see the toolbar, that's a problem.
