Artisitc Merits

I think its a different one but I could be wrong Eldo. Heres a variation on the pic with a bigger castle, more trees and a slightly closer view.

The only thing that looks odd to me is the birds, so many birds, same kind it seems, yet in many small flocks. And so evenly spaced. I think the three flocks to the right of the castle are the "worst", moving two of them together might solve it? The close up is gold.

Oh, the forumshire video! Weren't you remaking that? So when will THAT be ready then? What do you do all day?

The birds model is in a flock Amarie, all I can do is alter orientation of the overall flock or merge more than one population to make a bigger one (but with a repeating pattern). I can't change the number of birds in a flock or the pattern of the flock.

The Forumshire Video is currently sitting at about 59th on the list of things I am supposed to be doing! (Don't fret Orwell- your video is a higher priority- at least 58th)

Oh! Then there might be a small problem then... You see, I have to start paying off certain loans I took out very soon. There's the Ferrari, and then there's the yacht (a three master), and then there's that Castle* in Tuscany I'm planning as a love nest. It should be castello, but whos quibbling? As long as its got a moat, draw bridge, walled garden, battlements, turrets, tapestries, great hall, bowers, lancet windows, armour, log fires, spiral staircases, dungeons, guard hounds, falconry, orangerie, out houses, buttery, kitchens, dairy, oubliant, ghosties (friendly), men at arms, captain of the guard, troubadors, loggia, fountains, well, minstrels gallery, its fine by me.

Yeah, I figured that would be the case. Cause I am ever so smart you see. I am sure no-one else will even think of the birds, just a very minor detail. I just got a 'this looks a tiny bit too constructed' feeling. Though if this is actually an animation then I am sure I wouldn't have noticed.

So Petty - do you have some fractal generator for doing your work? You've got some wizardly arts for sure!

That Paul Cadden guy is okay, but can't compare for realism to my own self portraits.

The main work horse for my pics is Terragen2 Halfwise. I do my postwork in GIMP. And if I am animating I use Adobe premiere and After Effects (same two progs I use for my megaedit).

yeah Halfwise you are far more realistic.

well done on the competition win Petty did you get a prize? was it an annual subscription to Tossing The Caber Weekly? or Cobwebby Sporan Monthly?

No prize beyond pride Mrs Figg- which you can't drink apparently! Not sure therefore what good this pride stuff is but will let you know if I find out.
The comp was on a forum- Terranuts - the folk on it are seriously good and after joining I realised quite a few of them were the people who had written many of the tutorials etc that I had learned to use Terragen2 by- so getting votes from them is quite a nice feeling worthy of a celebratory buckie or ten.
