Re: Hello Norc
Tiddly winks thats a good word.
Tiddlywinks is an indoor game played on a flat mat with sets of small discs called "winks", a pot, and a collection of squidgers. Players use a "squidger": a disk (nowadays made of plastic) used to propel a wink into flight by pressing down on a wink, thereby flicking it into the air. The objective of the game is to score points by sending your own winks into the pot and preventing the opponent from "squopping" your winks by placing your own winks on top of them. As part of strategic gameplay players often attempt to squop their opponents' winks and develop, maintain and break large piles of winks.
Tiddlywinks is sometimes considered a simpleminded, frivolous children's game, rather than a strategic, adult game.[1][2][3] However, the modern competitive adult game of tiddlywinks made a strong comeback at the University of Cambridge in 1955. The modern game uses far more complex rules and a consistent set of high-grade equipment.
A simpleminded children's game ?
Did anyone get any of that ? Winks, squidger's squoppers, sounds like something from Harry Potter

Re: Hello Norc
When we played it as a kid I don't remember any rules that complicated. We were just trying to pop the winks into the bucket.
Collecting winks at a party is also far more complicated, I often feel I don't comprehend those rules either. I keep getting squopped.

Re: Hello Norc
I was not aware of this thread for a while and the thought of a thread just to say hullo to such a dear person seemed so unique and lovely I just had to come on. Sorry i did not have anything intelligent to say, but since I viewed your blog I am so in awe of you and your country I feel rather subdued.

Re: Hello Norc
Hello Norc- NOW LISTEN UP LASS- work harder, study more, practice your music more, draw more, eat healthier and dont slouch when I am lecturing you!!
(sorry but the overall cheerful nature of this thread was getting me down and I felt it needed a dose of crabbit to ground it).
leelee- having something intelligent to say is most definetly not a prerequiste to posting on Forumshire- if it was there would be almost posts here at all.

Re: Hello Norc
You know that I know that you are not speaking the truth . Every single person but me on this forum is not only brilliant but absolutely unique and at least as intelligent as Einstein. One has only to read ten posts to know the truth of that.
I often have no clue as to what all of you are even talking about. When you listen to David and Chris, Kafria, Julia, Norc, Halfwise, all of you you can just see brain cells of superior craftsmanship swirling about .
And little Norc, since Petty gave you a harsh tongue lashing and list of to do's I shall give you a rose scented tray covered with a snowy cloth and beautiful china plates with your absolute favorite treats upon them and a steaming cuppa to go with it . And a gentle kiss upon your dear forehead. There now, have a good day.
