The 2012 Annual Forumshire Awards
As I was voted the Most Popular Male of 2011, I think it would be absolutely fabulous if I get the vote in 2012 too.
Also, I don't think Ally should be allowed to vote this year, as she made it quite clear she didn't vote for me last year, which only goes to show that The Vote is wasted on undiscerning young women like her.

Re: The 2012 Annual Forumshire Awards
I'm sure there will be a similar process of choosing categories as there was last year. Petty has already mentioned that he has plans for expanding the awards and I would be interesting in adding some Creative Corner Awards since that forum has seen a growth in activity recently. We're still 7-8 months away from thinking about that, though, so I'm not sure what the point of this thread is other than Orwell continuing to inflate his post count.
Re: The 2012 Annual Forumshire Awards
I suppose we could have Pseudo Awards? you know like the difference between the BAFTA's being the proper ones and the Oscars being frilly silly Ryan Seacrest Awards for best botox and all that?
heres my suggestions,
Best Puffed up Ozzie post
Best Quantum Physics and complicated science stuff post
Best Drunken Ramble Post
Best Boyfriend stealing post
Best Enigmatic Loremaster post
Best Gag or jokes pertaining to bottoms post
Best cutest gif and or emoticon
Best worst post
Best military crackdown after fighting breaks out post
Best golfing anecdote post
Best cockney/essex boy post
Best scarily mature teenager post
Best cartoon/drawing of Agent Nora and Ringo post
Best eel wrangling related joke post
Best complicated uses for carrots post
phew I think that covers everyone!

That's just perfect!
We may have to change the "fuck you I won a BAFTA" to "fuck you I won a ridiculous but very important Forumshire Award!"

Getting a little ahead of ourelves here are we not- like children wanting to open their xmas presents before xmas day!
As per usual, nearer the time I will set up a thread for suggesting categories to add to the exisiting ones. And we can't even begin to formulate the film awards side to it anyway.

Maybe none, but my own fear is it would spoil the the main event smwhat if there was a competing set of awards. (And on a practical side its hard to come up with stuff every year, not just the categories but the whole ceremony bit- doing it twice uses up twice the material).

Re: The 2012 Annual Forumshire Awards
If people were interested in having a Creative Corner Awards, then perhaps we could hold those at the mid-point in the year. I really enjoy the Forumshire Awards, but I agree that replicating it just ruins the effect. If people want to do something else to make the wait go by, then I think doing something fresh is the right way to go, whatever that something is.
Re: The 2012 Annual Forumshire Awards
a creative corner award would be great! but I'm am struggling to see how it'll be objective...
Re: The 2012 Annual Forumshire Awards
I don't think I've ever met such a group of self-centred, egotistical, glory-hunting, whining hobbits in my life. All I was trying to do - ahead of time - was ban a certain young woman from voting next Awards, a young woman who should never have had been given the heavy responsibility of voting in the first place (to wit, 2011). We do need to sort out the Voting Rules surely, well ahead of time, rather than wait until the death knock before Ally (or perhaps someone else, once we've had time to investigate voting intentions) votes in a ridiculous non-consensus manner! Really, you people! My good intentions turned into farce yet again.

Re: The 2012 Annual Forumshire Awards
No I dont think it would be fair as not everyone has something on the Creative Corner thread, it has to be open to everyone, thats why I suggested a Best Post award, its short sweet and not too complicated or take too long to organize like the forumshire annual awards, and everyone gets to win something which is good for morale. I dont mean something that takes over and makes life difficult for photoshoppers.
we could all perhaps put forward funny gif's or photos or videos, something to illustrate why we deserve to win the nomination for a particular award, for example if there was an award for a 'self promoting and fickle hearted Ozzie who has run off with another woman at the drop of a hat without a backwards glance award', you show a picture of Orwell.

That's hardly tactful, Mrs Figg, however true... I guess people here can now see why I had to break things off.

So thats a no to the mini awards then?
Bugger it i'll make my own.
I hope admin doesnt mind me taking the law into my owns hands and staging an Indipendant rogue awards ceremony of my own? for fun? I hope there isnt a military crackdown and I get thrown in Lockholes or 'disappear mysteriously', or get banished back to Bree.

Not having witnessed the forumshire awards before I'm not quite sure what it entails, but you may not want to take steam out of it by having something similar mid year. Having the Creative Corner awards as something separate (because not everyone participates) is a good idea. And who cares if not everyone participates? Not everyone participates in these silly sports events the world over, yet people get excited about them all the same. The audience members are participants.
