Mayoral Elections - Polls Closed

Glad to know our efforts are getting the Valinorian seal of approval! I guess you guys are the oldest civilization in Arda, after all.

That's the problem with Eldorion's organisational skills, leadership and reliability, he has none. Typical youth of today.

One candidate has taken a commanding lead but we're still waiting to hear back from a number of members, including a few of the candidates themselves. I'll let polls run for another day or so, but it will be hard for any of the other candidates to stage a comeback without a lot of people returning just to vote. We want to be fair, but people do need to get a move on because the polls will close, which is itself only fair.

Back from registering my vote in the election. Only two seemingly legit runners in my opinion; wasn't sure which one to vote for, both good in my mind!

I'd like to give a very big thank you to everyone who voted. To everyone who didn't; try to come by in time for the Forum Awards in a few weeks, plus whenever the next Mayoral elections are. But more importantly, thank you to everyone who participated in the election season in any way by posting here and also to our candidates.

The winner of the election will be announced in a new thread shortly once the results have all been double-checked. However, to protect the secrecy of the ballot, specific election data will remain classified. I look forward to seeing what our Mayor will do; I'm sure this is just the beginning for them.

Where is our Mayor?- probably at a banquet- Mayoral Banquets can go on for a long tme when your a dragon.

If she doesn't return i suggest we elect a new mayor.

Kafria is still about- she just hasn't made to many posts of late, but she still stops by quite regularly.

And we cant have a young Mayor- young people know nothing about Mayoring - what would be your policies? A statue of Cumberbum to replace Eldo's statue in the Forumshire Park? And a huge picture of Cumberbum Freeman's face on the banner! (Bad enough what Eldo's done to it but at least he has an excuse- his mind has snapped.)

The Mayor must be a person of wisdom and sound mind, like Kafria. Its a respectable job, therefore almost no one else here is eleigible to do it. (Except Odo and we definiely dont want to go there )

Well, every small democratic group I've been in operates on the principle that you elect whoever puts up the least fight: and you can't put up a fight if you're not there!

I think we should have a coup d'etat then a quasi military junta followed by a democratic revolution by the proles followed by rigged elections and an uneasy juxtopositioning and jostling for power in the bushes.

It was a Quaker class so probably not. I feel encouraged knowing we weren't the only ones to engage in complex power struggles over the fate of our Sunday morning activities, though.
