That's a nice addition.

I had never seen anyone attempt to connect Tolkien to Islam before!
I am reading The Alchemist and it is convincing me to read The Arabian Nights

Re: In Honor of J.R.R Tolkien
I would suggest picking up an edition of selected stories from the Arabian Nights - the full version has a wide range of quality, and about half the stories are not worth the time.

Thanks for the suggestion. Anyone's in particular in mind?

Re: In Honor of J.R.R Tolkien
No, I have the full edition. It bogs down during the stories that are justifiably not famous.

I just did a Google search, and Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves, Aladdin and the Lamp, and Sinbad are supposed to be the most popular. I shall start with those.
Just finished The Alchemist, highly recommended.

Re: In Honor of J.R.R Tolkien
Well, there's like 1001 of them. If there's a book that selects the best 10% you'd still get a similar experience.
Actually, many of the stories continues through several nights (Scheherazhad was a clever young thing) so maybe there's more like a couple hundred stories, but you still may want an edited version if you can find one.
Edit: Richard Burton's original translation was in six volumes.
