Re: Kingship in Middle-earth
Wow, that is a lot! I think it best we start a thread on a topic and narrow its focus. Or widen it! Perhaps Christianity vs atheism. I do know of some great 1v1 debate forums but I assume you would like to keep it here.
Let's set up the rules/subjects now.
I want to defend Christianity specifically and "go after" atheism. Are you ok with that? Do we leave this discussion wide so anything can be brought up? Do we narrow to various subjects? Do multiple threads on various subjects? How would you like this to go?
One post each, alternating? I am up for most anything.
One idea is we could do "rounds" where we each bring up a rejection and respond. Perhaps two responses to each objection and move to the next.

Yes, open a new thread on the Big Bad Serious Forum. We may already have one from years ago but I think a fresh start is good. It's even possible we could convince presiding Site Vala Amarie to move the relevant posts to that thread.
You should know that any ground rules you set up will be loosely adhered to. We have a whole history of this kind of thing and even vocabulary to go with it. For instance this particular thread on Kingship has been "Norced" into a totally different topic. Named after a mischievious teenager we had here in the heyday of the forum.

For sure, that does occur. But I do enjoy a focused discussion that does not jump all over without actually addressing anything. And I think you are an intelligent, honest person who enjoys this kind of stuff. We cannot discussed EVERYTHING (I wish I had that kind of time) and so it might be best to define a few things here and narrow what we most want to dig into.
