I've always wanted to learn catfish noodling, but I think a thick southern accent is key to the technique.

Turns out they build wooden boxes just the right size for catfish and submerge them, which is how they know which hole to stick their arm in (this commentary could spin out of control right quick). Of course she's collecting clicks and no doubt is a young millionaire due in large part to her looks, but I don't think what they are doing is bogus...they're not hiding what they are doing or how.

Crueler than a hook? At least with noodling they can choose to let it go and except for a bad taste down its throat the fish is none the worse for wear. Though you'd think they'd have a gag reflex that would be quite painful.

I don't see how this is any different from noodling. The difference is bigger fish so you've got to use your whole arm.

You'd have to wrap your whole body around one of these catfish to lull it to sleep. The size these things are it likely thinks it's got a damn good catch and is convinced it will be feeding off you for the next week rather than the other way around. She never shows them eating one of them, so I've been led to believe they may be recycling them.

Notice the crown of bright orange fluff atop his head, the fine almost velvet dander of fur in the tribal colours of his breed, ready to attract a female fuzzywuzzy in key rings and fridge magnets aisle, hopefully waiting ( until 5 o'clock when the shop shuts )
