But Harfoots are not the ancestors of hobbits. They are one of the three original groups, none of which, as far as I know, predate any other.

That picture is grotesque, it looks like a horror film with Hobbit sacrifice.
I am so glad I dont have Amazon Prime, I am not paying for this travesty.

The image of the Harfoots reminds me of Elsa Beskow's illustrations.
Not quite what I would have expected from Hobbits tho.

those drawings would never say "hobbit" to me.
Why are they socially distanced in that feast photo?

It is important to impliment modern things, so it might be an important meeting concerning how to protect their people from the... man flu.

{{ Here you go-

Personally they never give orcs fangs, they should have fangs, and drool, and they are never hairy enough, hairy backs, chests and shoulders, short bristly, like the worst shave stubble ever and I'm not a fan of the armour. It looks like bone and lizard skin, or crocodile or something. But one of the things about orcs, one of the commentaries Tolkien makes about 'orc minds' is they work in iron and steel, industry in its worse most functional forms. }}

Re: Amazon, Warner Bros in Talks for LOTR Series Adaptation: Variety
those hats are stupid.
I've seen cartoon orcs that come closer to what I think Tolkien imagined (though I can'f find any examples that work for me - most that come close ruin it by being too muscled) But I think for budgetary reasons the films didn't go there: too much CGI needed. Prosthetics would not look real.

Re: Amazon, Warner Bros in Talks for LOTR Series Adaptation: Variety
{{ They are closer to how goblins/orc types are portrayed in D&D and video games- where they were trying to use Tolkiens orcs but without 'officially' using them. Orc-like, but not actually orcs.
For me orcs should be pretty varied in sizes, but the soldiery should generally either be shortish, squat, broad, short and hairy basically, with long ape like arms, with fangs and drool, and alongside them the skinny, wiry, type- like the wee guy everyone underestimates cause hes so thin but it turns out all to be muscle like knotted steel wire.
I imagine orcs like Shagrat, in high up more cushy jobs commanding a defensive border tower he'd be an example of a fatter orc, as he'd get all the best stuff and abuse his position as he's an orc, so of course he would.
And of course there also appear to be some specific breeds bred for particular purposes, like the 'sniffer' orcs for tracking people.
But all orcs are known for being good at industry, its just its the burn all the trees for the fires, choke the place with black smoke belching out chimneys, poison the waters type industry- but their armour should reflect the fact thats what they do, they are good at it, they make very effective tools and weapons, it just the aim of it all is to destroy and kill and maim and harm, and nothing else. They in part represent the dark side of industry and advancement.}}
