so I thought that I would share something very close to my heart. These people will mean nothing to you all, but as it is something that I have lived with for the last 6 years and am studying still, it obsesses my waking thoughts. I have found footage of the Italian artist that I love, Galileo Chini. The little girl in the white bow ribbon on her head at the end of the film is called Paola Chini, she is now in her 80s, and I have met her on various occasions when she attends talks and conferences about her grandfather Galileo. The video shows the family relaxing and having fun by the sea in Versilia where they had built a holiday home. The older man at the end is Galileo, I had never seen live footage of him before yesterday, I had only seen old photographs and when I placed a red rose on his tomb. Seeing him broke my heart.

I love how lively they are! It's a reminder that people from long ago were just as alive as we are, if not more so because they don't have their heads shoved up electronic devices.

That was lovely. The days when you had to find amusement & fun instead of being nose deep in a mobile. That must have been a powerful moment for you Figgy seeing him & his family on film.

Okay, so I stumbled across this and other than the amusing thought I'm wondering - where is her accent from? The pronunciation of "ex" makes me think New Zealand but maybe Singapore? I have no idea what a Singapore accent would sound like though I've heard clips of Singaporeans talk.

I am not sure if anyone has heard of the band Nightwish, however the comments about mobile phones reminded me of a song/video they released recently.

By the way, the lead singer is who I would rate as the best female vocalist currently out there. Her name is Floor Jansen, she is Dutch.

If anyone is interested I can find some videos of what I would consider her best vocal performances. Everything from opera to pop to some metal growling.

Plus she looks like some kind of Valkyrie when performing live with Nightwish! That helps.

New lead singer? I almost added "again", but realised I had no idea how many years had passed. I loved the metal opera, and was really disappointed when Tarja left.

Is she the um...cheeky one? We don't see her singing, wouldn't mind seeing her actually doing her craft.

Yes, Floor is the third. The second singer didn't last too long and Floor covered mid way through a tour is the US. There is a little documentary called 'Learn the set list in 48 hours" about it.

They loved her and she loved them and I think it is now 7 years and second album.

Halfy - the cheeky one is an Instagram model, I think from Finland, and not part of the band. Floor is the one you see singing and has the child.

I didn't catch her singing but know which one you are talking about.

Actually... now you mention it the only time she does is when she shouts "Nooooooise" down the megaphone at that small child.....

there's a lot of wonderful companies out there.  One of the best is the one that's been supplying high quality flour to America for centuries, and now of course is caught up in the maelstrom.  I found this story on King Arther Flour to be rather heartwarming - throughout their history their only focus has been doing the right thing.
