{{ More news- seems the rumours of episodes getting a 10 million budget thanks to the deal with Disney are just that, rumours. according to RTD although there is an increase in the budget fans should lower their expectations if they think its getting the sort of money an episode of GoT costs for examples. Im not too bothered by this as I'm of the opinion a solid budget that still requires some creative and imaginative thinking to manage can happen upon accidental genius, more than an unlimited budget that can rely on expensive spectacle often does. }}

throwing money at it wont make it good, just look at Rings of Power. If it was made in some blokes shed it could be just as good.

I assume in the final compositing it will be a mix of the pratical on set suit- which I like as it gives the other actors something actually there to relate to and gives it that real world weight cgi often struggles to emulate - and cgi flourishes to sell it on top of the practical suit. }}

The original Brigadier first appeared during the 2nd Doctor era though he wasnt yet a Brigadier, he subsequently played a huge role in the 3rd Doctor era, and regularly appeared during 4's, popped up during 5's run and met the 1st Doctor and last appeared with the 7th ( his final onscreen appearence was in the Sarah Jane Adventures but he never met a Doctor in that one). So all in the Brig covered Doctors 1-7 and in real time it was 20 years before his first appearence on the show and his last.

His daughter Kate appeared as head of UNIT in the 11th Doctor era, she met 10 in the 50th and the 12th and 13th later. This news means she will also meet 14 and 15.

This means Kate is only one shy of the Brig in amount of Doctors she has known, but its only taken real time 10 years rather than 20.

However the Brig got far more characterisation than Kate has had in her time, mainly thanks to the 3rd Doctor era being set on earth with him working for the Brig. So if as rumoured the new RTD era is to feature UNIT quite extensively one hope I have is that RTD fleshes Kate out more as her own character, not just as being head of UNIT and the Brig's daughter.}}

I am having a little trouble with that new interior. I am reminded of my beige table cloth with white polkadots and an add for a new mega ultra electric toothbrush. But perhaps it comes more together when the lighting is different.

Not too excited about the romance rumours.

{{ Found this interesting, RTD has got himself caught in a bit of a storm after seeming to complain about representation in tv.
At least thats how its been spun by the right wing press, the Telegraph for example went with - 'Russell T Davies lambasts diversity fixation of ‘rubbish’ new TV writers' as their headline. Problem is I dont think thats what he was saying at all.

Heres the full quote-

“I do a lot of mentoring, and there are voices wanting to be heard – of any gender or ethnicity – who consider themselves invisible. They hate the media that ignores them, and they’re trapped into wanting a job in that medium purely to increase representation. I read their scripts and they’re rubbish. They don’t actually love television, so they don’t know how to write for it.”

This is not a complaint to me about representation itself being the problem, but tv that exists purely for representation and nothing else is rubbish and badly written.
Given we know his Who will have a trans character, quite possibly the first gay Doctor and certainly the first non-white Doctor born outside the Uk, I think its fair to say RTD Who will not shy from representation, just that representation will not be the point of his Who- making good TV and telling good Who stories will be.

I find this actually rather a hopeful comment myself. }}

Well that's very astute of him, and hopeful too. He seems to be having a swipe at the last lot of 'diverse' writers of Chibnal's distastrous episodes who were chosen to get their 'voices' heard but hadn't a clue about entertainment, as they were obsessed by just hammering a political agenda.
