Ten Years! Wow!!!    

Well, I would say that I'm late to the party, but a wizard is never late. Nor is he early; he arrives precisely when he means to.



As to which lands this Grey Pilgrim has been wandering, my journey along the road which goes ever on has taken me to the world of Harry Potter fandom and fanfiction, and to the Land of Quora as of late, setting right the wrongs done to the denizens of Potterverse--a task set for me by none other than Eru himself.

Not only must I contend with setting right the wrongs of Mortal Wizards, but the mistakes of Potterverse's supreme deity, whose battle with her Muse is ever ongoing. She is now wreaking havoc, fumbling through her own Creation as she attempts to shoehorn in an Alternate Universe version of Potterverse into her existing Canon.

This is a task no less controversial than the offering of my full-throated approval of Peter Jackson's luscious adaptation of The Hobbit.

Heh!  

But never let it be said that I would ever let a little controversy still this cranky old wizard's voice.

It's wonderful to see you on here, GB! I've read some of your stories on FFn and AO3, but best of luck with Quora! I've posted there a few times but haven't ventured into the HP section as far as I can recall. I'm delighted you saw this thread and especially that you decided to comment. Hope all is well on your end even beyond the world of fandom.

I am afraid I agree that Harry and Hermione would have made a great couple. But that is food for fanfics, canon should remain canon.

I was mostly just yanking his chain; GB's actually written at some length about why he thinks H/Hr has a solid textual foundation, and even though it's not my ship I must admit he states his case well.

I have a lot of reservations about Rowling's recent additions to the Potterverse, though it's given us some good meme material, such as the recent return to prominence of the Pottermore "fact" that before the advent of indoor plumbing Wizards just shit themselves wherever they stood and Vanished their excrement.

Yes indeed Amarie, the call of the Newsletter did indeed lure me back for a visit.

Yeah, Quora has been both entertaining and a challenge. I spend most of my time in the Harry Potter section, though I do follow some Tolkien aficionados for my Tolkien fix. Anyone who wants to can find me there under the handle of Nathan Beard.
