that's cute. I remember seeing something about Jamie Lee Curtis fighting to keep makeup artists away from her so she could properly look like a frump. And it's good to see Michelle Yeoh's range.

Re: Future releases [2]
Argh, it's been reported that since Amber Heard lost her case with Johnny Depp, her scenes will be removed from the upcoming Aguaman movie. Not that I've watched any of this series or plan to, but is this really necessary? She's already been fined more than her net worth, why compound it? Both of them are obviously screwed up marital partners; let the courts do their thing then consider it balanced and over with. Sheesh.

Re: Future releases [2]
It is solely because of the fan backlash. You should hear them talking about Amber and their hatred of #MeToo, anyone would think that she was the wife beater. They hate her and it is revenge. It is very disturbing to read whole threads discussing the various movies going full-on incel weird shit. It is always the female characters getting the vitriolic attacks, especially when it involves very involved fans like Star Wars fans, they think the females are taking over 'their' property. I literally cant go to certain Youtube channels any more because it is so hostile to women. This is very different to the Amazon LotRs stuff, as that is against the studio people making the films which is fair game, but attacking one person in real life is not healthy, its like people cant distinguish between reality and fantasy.

Re: Future releases [2]
you should read what people have said on facebook ! is it not enough that both parties have aired all their business to the world ? I personally think its 6 of one and half a dozen of the other. Its done so, get on with life, just be what you were before and if you were an actor, be an actor. Do anyone of us really know the truth ?

They are both as unpleasant and arrogant as each other, but Amber got all the hate.

I think Johnny Depp is a genuine creep. And a fantastic actor. A fine job was done on Amber by all and sundry. Depp’s popularity found her guilty of all. Disgusting really. Just saying.

Re: Future releases [2]
Not really pertinent, but I'm Johnny Depp's age (there, now you all know) and recently was hit on in a bar by a woman younger than Amber! You have any idea how many decades it's been since a woman that age actually tried to pick me up? She was quite delightful, we talked for hours and live only a couple blocks from each other, but I couldn't help but feel she had no clue I was nearly twice her age. (she was touching me, telling the bartender that she'd drink whatever I was drinking the rest of the night, declaring she had stripped her sheets off her bed and had nowhere to sleep, etc - so not just an old man's beer goggles). I was sure if I sealed the deal she'd figure out before the night was through how old I was and feel I was dealing under false pretences, so did not take advantage of her hints and let slip I was too old and presently too drunk to hit on her so could walk her home if needed under complete security. I was hoping to develop a neighborhood friendship, but she slipped away.
If I played things right I could have had a one night stand AND a friendship. Did I insult her by lack of response? Is my sense of decency to be my perpetual downfall? Am I too stupid to be left wandering around without a wing-man to guide me straight?
(for those that don't know, in new york you can go for months and not see somebody in the same apartment building. Bumping into someone from the neighborhood can take years.)

Re: Future releases [2]
I think you made the right call. One night stands are a bit iffy imo. Its ok in your twenties I guess.
Its like wearing leather pants. In theory you can wear them at any age, but in practice anyone over the age of 30 who wears them risks looking like a bit of a tit, unless you are a biker or German. Or a German biker.
You might bump into her again, see how the land lies.

One-night stands aren't worth it in my experience. A nice night out is a preferable way to start off flings.

Re: Future releases [2]
I have hopes of bumping into her again. She may appreciate that I was more interested in a neighborhood connection than a quickie, even if that was what she was looking for. She was a former employee and regular at the place I met her; left a gift bottle with a message and contact info a week ago, but she hasn't responded. So it goes.

Re: Future releases [2]
I like when you're reading the IMDB of an actor and you realize that he's going to be in an upcoming movie that you haven't heard of before that you may actually enjoy for a change. A very good cast, is it not?
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1230522/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_1
(The actor I was reading about was Julian Glover.)

I wonder if Kenneth Grahame is as interesting as his book?
That D&D film LOOKS good, and seems to have some fun character dynamics.

Re: Future releases [2]
My players have been encountering a lot of kobolds lately actually. We've taken a brief respite and are now dealing with zombies and some zombie-like creatures. And we've had our first PC death in a couple months. Go figure that it was this guy's first session too. RIP.
Before that it was mostly just dwarf hireling fatalities. The party fought a wizard in some demi-plane and he fried seven of the dwarves with spells. 'twas hard-fought and very close in the end.

Martin McDonagh back to directing Brendan Gleeson and Colin Farrel for the first time since In Bruges.
