Aw shucks! Thanks guys! Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed
I never much wanted to be on TV but this seemed like the time if there ever was going to be one.

Halfy- That's actually not me on the excavator. I can run one if necessary (like backhoes, forklifts, tractors etc. I've been messing around on equipment since I was 10) but this job calls for an artist, so we've got a virtuoso in the driver's seat. He literally visualizes the bucket as his own hand and the tracks as his two feet. It's like mechanical ballet! I cold watch him all day.

Eldo- The grant took some doing, but it's through the local Conservation District which helps farmers with such things as environmental upgrades.

Halfy- The Dune Question is a good one, but no time now. Remind me OK?

There were a number of shots I couldn't figure out how they did. Clearly had a helicopter coming seriously close to the trees, but how about when the camera shoots off the end of the washed out road? Telescoping rails? There was a LOT of expense put into this story.

Yep! Nod

The crew consisted of just two veteran news people: the interviewer and the camera/light/sound guy. His camera fit in the palm of his hand. All his sound and lighting gear fit in one small suitcase with the exception of the tripods that fit in his other hand. The drone and monitor were in another small suitcase. They did all the scouting interviewing and shooting in one day followed by a couple weeks of research and editing by the interviewer. Pretty amazing!

{{{Dave (or any UShobbit) meant to ask before after watching that vid- what have Americans got against building foundations? At least some of the houses in that video were originally built by the owners as beach cabins without ever worrying about permits. They just wanted a solid roof over their heads when they went the beach, and this was a big step up from the tent. Of course, successive owners kept adding on, like you do.... Any permanent house is required to have a foundation (if only by common sense) but low-budget contractors usually don't use one cubic foot more concrete than is required by law. Mad

That's a surprisingly accurate drawing for a whiteboard sketch, nothing better to get you in the festive mood than getting annoyed by the lead up to Christmas...
