Re: Music [3]
I've heard piano versions at that speed. I think the idea is to surprise the listeners with a bit of an explosion, an effect lost when not preceded by the other movements. She could slow it down a bit, but then it wouldn't feel Metal, would it?

{{ Just listened to it again, with playback speed slowed to 0.75. Much better! }}

I tried it, and yes it makes for better background music; but doesn't plaster you to the wall, your eyes wide as oysters and and your ears quivering. That's clearly what she was aiming for.

Re: Music [3]
I suppose this was too slow for one of 'em Russian tykes. He puts a lot of subtlety into glissando notes, etc - things you that are impossible to get across on piano and even difficult with full orchestra.

Re: Music [3]
I forgot that 1967 was still primarily black and white, at least for home video and TV. But those vehicles look more like the 50s.

Re: Music [3]
My favourite song at the moment. Listen to it 2 or 3 times and it gets you.

Re: Music [3]
I wish they had molded the lyrics to be more...um...lyrical. Wonderful music but the lyrics seem crowbarred in, don't fit the natural lines of the music at all.

Re: Music [3]
No what you mean about the Ripper song halfy, but there's something about the song I really like. Maybe the music or the girls voice.
Same with this song. Lovely music but some words don't fit

Re: Music [3]
Listened to the Jack the Ripper song after listening to the Dracula's Bride piece, which demonstrates that the team CAN fit lyrics to the music very well. This clarifies that the non lyrical lyrics on Jack the Ripper was a deliberate artistic choice rather than laziness, and with that in mind it's no longer jarring and I appreciate it much more.
