Long, but by minute 13 I was hooked. He uncovered some writing techniques that make Tolkien different, though he gets bogged down in jargon in the 3rd quarter.

I think that's an insightful guess. Tolkien was always very concerned with timing, so wouldn't have failed to link those events up.

it just occurred to me, don't all these videos using Shore's music have to get rights? Do studios sue people to get payment for the use of film music?

Not much that people don't already know. Though I can't agree with the statement that after Aragorn rebuilt it, it "regained it's glory of old". No support for such a claim.

Though I like the Men of the West vids, the little lessons at the end always grate on me.

Yeah, I agree... I got a north Norwegian feel from it. Finnmark or Sami maybe.

I always liked the feel of Annuminas in LotRO. The big lake up in Evendim was beautiful, and the contested ancient city was a fun questing area. The thumbnail for that video up there seems to have taken inspiration from the look of the game.

{{ Found this quite a useful vid, not short but as a visual overview of the history I found it helped keeping track of the early Ages and the 1st Age in particular, in regard to who was where, when and what order events occurred in. I'm not anywhere near qualified for Lore Master status but nothing egregious stood out to me either. }}

Some clips here I haven't seen before. Many are quoted, but nice to see on film.
