Yeah it's hard for me to say. Shrugging I've wanted to go to England for a long time and flying in non-peak season would make a lot of sense, but if I'm gonna make it all the way over there I don't wanna it to be for just a single weekend or spend all of it Oxford.  But I'd probably need more time to save than three months to get ready a longer trip.  Will have to think longer about the strategic use of paid time off too.

we could all hire a huge Winnebago and go on a road trip. that would save on accommodation and travel expenses, apart from petrol.

I agree 70£ doesn't sound a lot in the greater scheeme of things, but the time and funds and getting my shit together enough to go by the time of September all make it less likely that I could manage it. Would be fun if some of you guys managed to meet up though. Weren't you all talking about something next year somewhere else? Could be a good trial run.. err.. thing.. Nod

Don't think I'll be popping over this year. But a Forumshiremoot does sound like something worth doing; awkward for sure, lots of geeks and unknown faces. But it might just be worth it.

We plan to take our summer holiday in England/UK when the kids are more able to speak the lingo. My sis and her family is going to London this summer though, Legoland and such.

I think it's pretty much Oxonmoot or bust. If not this year then another.

I'm only coming if the people closer together can get their act together enough to meet. Haven't see that happening yet.

I'll have a better idea by the end of the week Halfy if I can afford to go.

If you and Tin manage it I'd still like one more before I plunk down for a transatlantic flight, and my schedule will still be constrained to leaving on thursday returning on sunday. I'm hoping Az can manifest some of her 'feminine energy'.

But if it doesn't happen this year and people can make it happen with longer term planning, next year should be a little less constrained for me.

I would LOVE to go on this jaunt ! Its down to money sadly ! Im not to be relied on really. Things may perk up & I could turn up at the last minute or, things wont perk up & IL be miserable as arse'oles for ages because I couldnt go. Its not ME thats fickle, its, life. IL have to give my cauldron another kick ! Smile

That's why this may have to be next year, but then we'd lose Tin. Sad But I hope Tin can meet up with at least one other loyal subject.

I just found out I'll be studying at Oxford itself that next week, so if I do end up going it'll be a lot of Oxford! I have to look into it a bit more....

Stay tuned...

Oh if you're gonna be there, the fee for just the talks is not so bad. Be silly to miss it. But we'd all like to hear about Oxford (in DETAIL Twisted Evil) in any case.
