Not sure about this at all, Moffat in the latest issue of DWM-

“We’re not bringing him back exactly as we left him, at all. I think that was already evident at Christmas. He’s left some of the burden of being a superhero of the universe behind. So I’m pushing him – I’m writing quite funny this year – I’m pushing him the other way. Also, Peter magnifies anything that is dark."
He adds: “He’s also got a Scottish gloom about him. If you gave him a Matt Smith script, it would come out very, very differently. I think it was great fun to do for a year. But no, that’s not how we’re going to play the rest of him.”

I like the Scottish gloom about him. I liked a more serious darker Doctor- if it ain't broke don't fix it. Mad

"I'm writing quite funny this year"

Ok... Not sure if I am feeling relieved or worried about that...

Petty, you'd love anything as long as someone says it's Scotish. Even a bath. Wink

A new companion? I am not sure I can stomach another super 'interesting' girl with low self-esteem doing whatever she can to make the Doctor pat her head and tell her she's 'special'. Or a guy for that matter. The Doc just moving from place to place meeting new people and creatures and such would be more than fine with me.

Hmm...I would say Capaldi is more serious and gloomy yes, but not necessarily that dark, unpredictable I think would be be the best way to describe him.

Can you have Dark and Funny?

I don't think Capaldi has been given good enough scripts yet, he is just falling a bit flat. As for a new companion I certainly don't want another MPDG, but I don't really get the relationship between him and Clara any more. something fresh would be nice, maybe this new director can comeup with something interesting.

Thumbs Up

I wasn't overly enthusiastic about the scripts though, and I'd certainly welcome a new companion or two, preferabely someone who wasn't a modern day spunky mid 20's londoner...

Would be interesting to see NuWho do a male companion. Rory wasnt a companion really, in that he was Amy's companion more than the Doctors, he became more a traditional companion towards the end- but theyve never done an all out male companion.
